Description of Secondary Injection 2005 2015 A0580000025 A0001405185

The secondary air injection pump is responsible for lowering the number of carbon emissions that come out of the tailpipe of a vehicle. This component is also called a smog pump, or an air pump, and it lies within the secondary air injection system of the vehicle. Secondary Air System is designed for exhaust gas reprocessing in the engine warm-up phase. During this process, fresh air is blown directly into the exhaust manifold, enabling faster heating of the catalytic converter. This Secondary Air Smog Pump Fits for Mercedes-Benz 2006-200 C230 2.5L, 2010-2011 C250 2.5L, 2008-2012 C300 3.0L, 2008-2011 C350 3.5L, 2007-2010 CL550 5.5L, 2006 - 2009 CLK350 3.5L, 2007 - 2009 CLK550 5.5L, 2007 - 2011 CLS550 5.5L, 2006 - 2011 E350 3.5L, 2007 - 2011 E550 5.5L, 2009 - 2014 G550 5.5L, 2007 - 2012 GL450 4.6L, 2008 - 2012 GL550 5.5L, 2010 - 2012 GLK350 3.5L, 2006 - 2011 ML350 3.5L, 2008 - 2011 ML550 5.5L, 2006 - 2011 R350 3.5L, 2008 R550 5.5L, 2010 - 2013 S400 3.5L. This Secondary Air Smog Pump Fits for Mercedes-Benz 2008 - 2011 S450 4.6L, 2007 - 2011 S550 5.5L, 2007 - 2012 SL550 5.5L, 2006 - 2008 SLK280 3.0L, 2009 - 2011 SLK300 3.0L, 2009 - 2011 SLK350 3.5L. Customers can find the product you need accurately according to the OE number. OE part number: 0001405185, 0580000025, A0001405185, 0001404685, A0001404685, 704389020. Secondary Air Pump injects fresh air into the exhaust gas behind the exhaust valve in a short time, to help further oxidized of CO and HC in the exhaust gas of the engine , thereby reducing the emission of harmful substances in the exhaust gas of the automobile. One of the first symptoms of a bad or failing smog pump is a rough running engine--Reduced horsepower; Check Engine Light comes on. If the injection pump begins to fail, since it is a vital part of the emissions system, a fault code will be triggered. If these symptoms occur in your vehicle, you need to replace a new secondary air pump. By simply replacing this pump, efficiency can be restored and there will be no worry about failing an emissions test.

A Pack of Parts Saved

The list price for this item is over $700 at Mercedes-Benz and $500 at local parts stores. Under $80 I couldn't believe it until I installed it and it worked great.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Is there anything I can add

Maybe the second time will have better luck

The first took 10 months. I swapped it out and then took it apart to see what was wrong. The bearings were not lubricated. To find out, I had to destroy the seal on both end bearings. There was some grease at the end of the stator, but there was 0 grease at the end of the fan. I tried a Bosch unit and got 2 years of these but they cost twice as much.

Pros
  • Practical thing
Cons
  • There are problems

The block failed immediately.

Although it looks the same as other air pumps, it does not meet California Air Resources Board standards due to the very low air pressure. It didn't produce normal airflow noise and didn't keep the secondary air system within parameters; far. The new relay and check valve tested fine, but the engine only ran at a very low speed.

Pros
  • glitters
Cons
  • makes me angry

Fits A 2012 C300 4matic Sport

Fits direct fit, no modification required, looks identical to the Mercedes factory air pump and runs extremely quiet when started. The original MB block had a bearing noise that made it squeak quite loudly for the first 10 seconds on a cold start, but this immediately fixed the problem. The average repair at an MB dealer is $948. It cost less than a hundred dollars and took half an hour to install, no problem unless you're happy to pay exorbitant markups to the dealer!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Unsafe
