Good meter but Apogee became cheap due to logistics

The meter itself is very good: accurate and easy to use. BUT, for the money I would expect a case and pocket guide to access when needed. After spending $605 plus tax on this gauge, I want it to be protected from dust, water, and other workplace exposures. I modified the box to serve as a protective case. Removing the battery cover was PITA. It should also be a problem to take out the battery one day to replace it. One last thing, after purchasing this product I went to their website and the…

Very cheap quality

Received the Apogee MQ 500 today and finally got the opportunity to test my flashlights. The device was relatively easy to understand despite the complete lack of instructions. After unpacking the device, I noticed that the display is difficult to read. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the front bezel was actually just a thick sticker that was misaligned when placed on the device. Because the cost of this meter is high, I did a lot of research before buying. I grow quite a few edible plants in my basement and only use LED lighting. Of the many models I researched, some were not suitable for LED lighting. Before I bought this meter, I used light meters that measure lux and/or lumens. During my research, I found that LUX and Lumens measure light intensity, while PAR meters measure the amount of useful light for plants. When using a lux or lumen meter, the readings can be…
