No more broken or split hooves

These Shoo Fly leggings are a game changer. I have owned horses for 50 years and have never had anything easier and more effective than these fly repellent leggings on my horses legs. They stopped stomping completely to get rid of the flies. Our recent blacksmith visit was amazing. There were no chips in their hooves and cracks were growing. It is so nice to see that my horses are comfortable and comfortable. They spend much more time in the pasture than in the barn and avoid flies. When theseโ€ฆ

Stop stomping! But watch out for scratches

My mare stops flying all day. she breaks her hooves and injures the soles of her feet. it stopped pounding! Love it! She also seemed to like them because she didn't take them off. However, after about 2 weeks, she tore off one hind leg, then the other. On closer inspection I can see where the hard/slightly flexible plastic fin is bent and must have been rubbing against it as it has worn down material down to the plastic fin. I can't blame her for taking it off. I hope I can keep it bentโ€ฆ

Buy a size larger than you think you will need.

My horses have been wearing them for two summers. This year the velcro didn't hold up well so I went back to buy more. They look weird but work well. The stamping of the feet stops almost immediately and the frequency of requests to change shoes decreases. I really wish there was a very large size to fit my design cross. The big ones are too tight for him, and he tears open the front gaiters with his teeth. I have to assume it's discomfort as he can handle flare pants, jump boots and transportโ€ฆ

So far none of my horses has managed to spoil them.

I bought a set of 4 just to try them on my horse's front legs because both get covered in flies every summer. I had them with my two horses for a few days. Both are notorious for slipping out of things, tearing things off, etc. They stayed strong and didn't show any signs of wear. My mare can even bathe in a trough with water in it and doesn't harm them (this was a huge issue for me - I needed something to solve our problem as we can't use fly spray or other chemicals). on his feet for thisโ€ฆ

Fly boots that really work

update to previous review: I've had the boots for over a month now and they are excellent. Velcro really holds. Our soil is very clayey and when we had some rain our boots stayed in place and didn't sag at all. Even if my horse decides to walk on slippery mud. And the sores on my horses' pasterns have healed well. I highly recommend these boots. I've only had Shoofly boots on my horse for a few days and they work as advertised. The flies were terrible on my horses' shackles. These boots haveโ€ฆ

They are better than all other leggings!

I bought these leggings mainly because I saw other people wear them on their horses. They looked like they would fit a lot better than any other leggings I've bought. My horse was eaten alive by flies trying to recover from a hoof problem (so I'd prefer if he didn't stamp his feet) and then the vet said he had scratches on his feet too. These boots are a relatively stiff cone with Velcro around the horse's leg. The leggings go down just enough to cover the top of the hoof, which my other pantsโ€ฆ
