Perfect Screw Cap

These are excellent screws. I like the fact that they are self-tapping and don't usually split wood. I had a few pieces of wood that kept splitting, but I think it was more the wood than the screws. I've bought similar screws in the past, but other brands, and the heads broke off with too much torque (which wasn't much), these never broke. I wish they were brown too because I love them so much I use them outside too, not just in pocket openings. Be sure to buy!

Excellent screws. on Screws

This (1-1/4 coarse) is my pocket hole screw, the size and thread that I use 80 percent of the time. Great for most 3/4" cases. I loved these Kreg screws so much I started using them for everything from pocket hole joinery to screwing down electrical boxes to making patio furniture. I need another one Head snap off or cut and most of the time I use an impact wrench It doesn't get any faster or easier than this These guys drill themselves, hold like crazy and don't split or drive too far like…

It's just a screw. Or that?

While you could argue it's "just a screw," the science behind these pocket-hole Kreg screws is pretty solid: make sure your project is clamped down for better support. Because the threads are only partially raised, the tip (that you drilled into the pocket) becomes like a passive clamp. The part you didn't drill into, the part you screw into, becomes the jaw. Together they ensure your joint has no play and prevent premature failure caused by insufficient connection or movement in the joints…
