best ever! suitable for portable audio and video

I have a lot of cassettes that I listen to all the time. And this is a cassette player that I have been using for many years. I wanted another one because I knew it would continue. Looking through my orders, I found the same one I bought last time! Decided to buy another one to make sure I always have it. FYI when I first ordered it I was only shown different models. Found it by accident while looking through my old orders!

Small tape recorder

I love this tape recorder. To distract myself from everyday problems, I put a cassette of Dr. Wayne Dyer, Ram Dass or Reverend Ed Townley, put the tape recorder under my pillow and enjoy the opportunity to hear the experiences and philosophies of great men. This is the only quiet time during the day when I can sit back and enjoy my class. Unfortunately everything is released on CD these days so I cherish my many old cassettes without which I would never have been able to enjoy this recorder…

Quality Products in Cassette Players and Recorders

For my lectures I prefer tape recording to modern CD or mp3 technology. Where I stop on tape is the mechanical process. I can remove the tape and move it to another location and pick up where I left off on another machine. This is not possible with new technology. Also, big stores like Best Buy no longer sell cassette players and smile at me when I ask about them. Circuit City still has a limited supply. Sony TCM-200DV is a portable device. It's inexpensive (under $40 at stores like Revain) and

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Not bad

These are the best tape listening devices because there are basically two gears, fast and slow, and then an analog dial that runs on each gear, so there's quite a bit of variety . If I want to listen slowly and understand every word I can do that (sounds like the Great Sloth talking but I'm used to it) or if I want to emphasize it I turn the volume up to 11! I've bought a few of these when they were cheap but one after the other over the years by falling out or not changing there speed or…

Very good product. for portable audio and video devices

My friend gave me over 100 books on cassettes that he no longer needs. The only problem was that they were on standard sized cassettes. Every cassette player I could find was made fairly cheaply and didn't have good ratings for durability. Last December my grandchildren asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I told them a normal cassette player. I got blank looks because they didn't know what cassette tapes were. They gave me a Revain gift card. Perfect. I was able to buy the player I wanted for

Good cassette player, but eats batteries. Expensive.

Hello everyone. Below are (+ve) and (-ve) reviews from me after a week of use.PLUS Large speaker with clear voice even at high volumes Suitable for cassette playback Dual recorder and tape speed control (slow, normal and fast) Well thought out knob Large size, suitable for fists MINUS No radio and belt clip AC adapter not included Made in China (but quality is good but not excellent) Poor battery life (eats batteries and needs to be replaced every week with daily use) Expensive (maybe cheaper…

When old technology is better than new

In some cases, old technology is even better than new. I used the DVR while learning a language; I would record my friend saying simple phrases in Japanese and then listen to them over and over again to improve my pronunciation. But there are several problems with the DVR. First, there are only three playback speeds; normal, slow and fast. This tape recorder allows you to change the speed - I think the information in the description is wrong, it seems you can speed up or slow down up to 100% of

A simple recorder that works reasonably well

As a high school journalism teacher, I often have students use a tape recorder for interviews. I have always been happy with Sony products and have had excellent results with the Sony TCM-150. During this school year I bought four more recorders and decided on the Sony TCM-200DV. This is a minor upgrade over the 150. The 200DV includes three additional features. 1) It has an external microphone jack (which I never use). [Note: The internal microphone is located on top of the recorder and is…

9This Sony tape recorder is an updated version of the earlier TCM-454VK tape recorder. The earlier model was black and featured a removable battery door. The current model is grey, with a silver top and a hinged door. The newer model still has the same controls but with an extra control. An additional control is the easy-to-use FAST/DOUBLE Speed switch. This switch is useful, for example, when you want to record music and then play it back at half speed to learn how to play music by ear. The…
