Quality Product: Heavy Duty & Commercial Vehicle Parts

This Bearing is for my Ford Explorer V8 2004 4WD Rear. It includes a locking ring. Based on visual inspection, these camps appear to be well constructed. Well finished surfaces. Without scratches, nicks and other irregularities. Packed well protected. Doesn't look like a cheap copy at all. Looks and feels like a quality product. I will update my review after a year of use. Reinstalled in August 2013. UPDATE AUGUST 2014: a year later and no problems. The bearing rotates quietly. I will order…

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • New Competitors Have Appeared

2002 Mountaineer rear hub bearing assembly

My order arrived quickly and the quality of the part looks good. I trust the Timken brand for excellent quality control. I want the warehouse to say "Made in the USA" and not Korea. This is quite a lot of work for the master, and after disassembly, the rear bearing needs to be replaced with a press. I took it to the local auto repair shop. He said they do about 15 of these a week. It's back on the road. It is quiet and above all safe to drive.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Good quality, best axles and heavy duty parts

Item arrived quickly. I read and studied several reviews of Timken brand hubs, it seems that this is a good quality product, well finished and so on. The bearing is made in Korea, as far as I can tell it's a good quality product; processed well and smoothly again. Pressing out the old bearing and hub and pressing in the new one cost me $112. I'll put them in and see how they hold up. Rear suspension overhaul on a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer. It's cheaper to fix the damn car than to buy another one

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Bearing noises on Conductor 2006 are gone

What's the difference. The horrible rattling of my 2006 Explorer is gone. As an avid mechanic who now has a limited set of tools, I have to say that removing the hub was a bit more difficult than I had hoped, but with patience I managed it. Not finding other reliable options, I relied on a local machine shop, who charged $104, to remove the old bearing from the hub and press in a new one. UPDATE: In the fall of 2017, the bearing started shaking. I've only ridden about 15k, I need a replacement…

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Out of fashion

4000 Miles Driven: Heavy & Commercial Vehicle Parts

The original bearing lasted 110,000 miles but the replacement only lasted 4,000. The factory bearing was replaced with a Timken bearing in April 2015, which started making noise in October 2015. Luckily, all the rusted nuts and bolts are already loosened, so the job should be easier this time. UPDATE 08/11/16. Another will be crushed to dust. The same bearing failed again, but. It could have been an installation error where the axle nut wasn't tightened to 203 ft-lbs. one more chance Luckily…

Pros
  • Very Good Price
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Defective bearing - not made in USA

Ordered two bearing/hub assemblies for my 2002 Explorer. Bearing made in Korea (marked "Korea"). I couldn't install any of them. Upon inspection of the bearing, the inner ring of the bearing was noticeably loose and wobbling in the housing (outer ring). My mechanic will not install because this bearing issue is causing the hub to move (wobble) resulting in a total bearing/hub failure. I have contacted Revain about a return. Revain has escalated the issue/inquiry to their supplier, Parts Giant…

Pros
