Great product for our sailboat.

Cheaper than other brands. Very easy to use. First we used shock absorbing tape and then glued it on top. Preserve the tightness of the connection of the mast with the deck! It is best to have 2 people install so you can stretch the tape evenly once it is wrapped around the mast. UV can't confirm yet. Now pretty white!

  • boring packaging

Leaks around the mast.

I expected water resistance. no leaks when I replace my old tape with this stuff. The first leg did not stick to the mast as intended. No problem, when we got to it we cut off the first leg and everything seems fine. Everything was looking good until the first heavy rain came and water was leaking everywhere. I now plan to ditch that tape and go back to the old trusty black thick tape. I have a Sunbrella boot that offers UV protection.

Seems to work as advertised

I've used a similar rigging strap before but narrower. I've only had it on the mast for a few weeks so we'll see how it holds up over the long term. It sticks best when stretched, and the typical end of this type of tape sticks up because that part is hard to stretch (because you're holding it to stretch the rest). Before sticking the tape on, I mounted and caulked the silicone mast wedge. Everything is sealed with this tape (and we've had a lot of rain the past few weeks).

Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok
