I've been using Weller products for a long time and have never had any problems with them. This 12V DC electric iron makes working with oilfield equipment much easier.
Most of the time I use the Master Appliance butane iron because my work is not often sensitive to higher temperatures. But when I need to work on a circuit board or something thinner, this iron does the job well. Uses the same temperature control method as Weller's classic WTCPT iron and uses the same tips. It also uses the same stand as WTCPT in case you want to take the stand with you. (FYI: it *does* not use the same tips or stands as Weller's W60P/P3 120V portable irons.)
This is a really good soldering iron and of course if you use Weller products you have all Weller tips. We compared this Road Pro (cheapest) and the Antex MLXS soldering iron (you have to google it, there is a distributor in the US). Antex has some advantages and disadvantages compared to Weller. The pros are that it's a little thinner so it doesn't take up as much room in a gear bag and seems to reach temperatures more efficiently than a Weller (we used the built in wattmeter) so if you're…
