Wiha 96705 Torx Screwdriver: Precision Handle for Superior Control - T5 x 40mm Review

Really well made screwdrivers. Bought to work with the Macbook Air's internal screws and didn't want to remove them with the cheap screwdriver that came with the battery. I'm glad I bought it.

When you need tools that won't strip screws, get Wiha. I thought some of the Torx 5 screws were stripped beyond repair and I'd have to drill them out, but Wiha saved the day. It's worth a few bucks more for hardened tools if you need them.

Never use a cheap screwdriver on a laptop. I made that mistake, but thank god it was fixed before I started removing the screws. Beautiful tool, durable, comfortable, modern. Stay away from Chinese brands and stay away from Home Depot too. This is needed to work on laptops, period.

After hearing good things about Wiha regarding the quality of their products and the knife maintenance niche I bought this screwdriver to loosen the knurled screw on the knife. The tip broke off at the slightest pressure and is now permanently stuck in the screw. Disappointed and somehow worse than before purchase.

I bought a JAKEMY kit which is for limited use. I had to replace the batteries on 2 laptops and then again on one of these laptops. We are talking about 9 T5 screws each. So to remove and install 54 turns. When I decided to add memory to one of the laptops, some of the screws couldn't be removed because the cheap JAKEMY parts were poorly made. Nothing can replace a good quality tool. The Torx T5 is a very small tool and you just can't get a cheap tool and expect it to work let alone last a long time. The slightest torque will ruin a wrench this small unless it's made of quality metal. If you need a Torx T5 to remove screws from a laptop or other small device, DO NOT spend money on a Chinese-made "kit" with lots of things you don't need. I learned it the hard way.
