It will get the job done, but get it in a larger size than you need.

This should help me avoid blowing fuses as often, and it does. But the problem is that it's cheap. I am using a Rockville RVA-M3 4000w peak/1000w CEA RMS auto mono amp at 1 ohm. The amplifier has 3 fuses of 40 amps. When I stress my system heavily, I get about 4 minutes to say this switch is tripping. Then it says wait about 15 minutes before being told I can get him to stay busy. My 120 amp amp has never blown a fuse so 150 amps should last but it doesn't. I suggest if you're buying cheap like

Pros
  • Function: This circuit breaker can protect the amplifier from overcurrent or overvoltage damage. Meanwhile, power supply can also be protected to avoid battery failure and explosion caused by short circuit.

Extra Security

I was building a so called "solar generator" and needed extra protection. This 70A DC breaker was installed between my 1000W inverter and the busbar (distribution block) using 4AWG wire. It was easy to install and gives me a piece of mind. This also serves a second purpose. When I'm not using the inverter, I turn it off and then turn off the breaker to make sure the inverter doesn't get any power at all. That extra protection is worth the extra effort, and the Breaker represents excellent value

No more pulling a fuse during a two-week desert retreat

I didn't realize that during my first desert retreat, my power amp would draw currentβ€”even when it's turned off. I'm glad I tried to start my van the day before I left and was then able to flag down a passing pickup to make the jump. When you're 25 miles away in the desert with no cell phone signal, details like these matter. But after removing the fuse at the start of my third retreat, I found that the set screws that clamp the 8 gauge wire were very loose in their holes. The editing was very…

Much better than the built-in fuse!

Much better than the built in fuse. You will NEVER need to buy another fuse as there is NO fuse in it. You can also turn off your amplifier if you need to adjust crossover settings for mid and high speakers. My subwoofer is a 15 year old Infinity BassLink. And I'm running it with a Pioneer AVH NEX-2550 head unit. My stuff is BANGIN' HARD now. This is because the 30 watt fuse I originally had under the hood was weak and was restricting proper flow in my amp. My 15 year old subwoofer sounds…
