inconsistent: lighters and matches

I have both single and double flame, I also don't recommend using the official Zippo butane egg. the single has problems with the flame (even with a fresh tank). Changing the flame height helps, but the butane burns through too quickly and the torch is too big. 90% of the time the twin has problems with the ignition. Again, changing the flame height helps, but you'll burn through exponentially faster since it's a dual flame. Just honestly buy a regular butane lighter. Also, Zippo's own butane…

Poor dual flare design

As the previous reviewer left out, the dual flare version is poorly designed. After filling the insert, I puzzled over why the lighter would not ignite, even though the butane flow was copious and I could see sparks from the igniter. . Oops. I used a small flat head to position the igniter in relation to one of the flares so it could ignite (see image). I'm not sure what this will mean for its longevity, but at least it will work for now. Zippo is a trusted brand, but I'm afraid the dual…

Not the best Zippo quality in household products

These earbuds are made in China, and while they say "Made to Zippo Quality," they certainly aren't. My first one worked fine, I filled it with Zippo brand butane and it worked for a couple of days then it stopped so I filled it up following the instructions. It fired maybe twice so I turned the adjustment screw on the bottom to increase the flame and it produced the same size flame as before. I had to turn the screw higher and higher until it reached its maximum and it stopped working…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Poor instructions

It works well, it looks good, the flame is strong (I can't say more).

**SEEN REVIEW** It's quite disappointing: turns out it just looks good. The butane gas insert worked great at first. As I started using it, I noticed the flame getting shorter. I increased the flame but to no avail. Now, after a month and 3 days, it no longer works. I pressed the ignition button next to my ear and I don't hear a "ssss". from the nozzle. Gas does not come out when the ignition button is pressed even if the piezo clicks. It turns out that the gas is not supplied for ignition at…

Worked great after a little adjustment.

I couldn't wait to get this, I wasn't a fan of the liquid lighter cotton balls that usually come with zip ties. I don't smoke and usually just wear a zippo for coolness and fear. But once in a blue moon I use it. For example, on a recent trip I had to cut a piece of paracord, and when it came time to melt the tip to keep it from unraveling, I found the cotton balls were dry. So the answer is: self-contained, reusable butane pressure flares. But after I got it and put it in my zipper (fits…

Fantastic (after a tiny modification to fix a hard ignition)

Important information about the ignition electrode if yours does not ignite well! I bought two inserts with two flashlights for two of my favorite zippos. I opened one, immediately filled it up, installed it and went to smoke. It took a few clicks for it to light up, and I assumed it was because I'd just filled it up. I was wrong. It remained difficult, even if sometimes 10 or more attempts were made. It turned out that the small ignition electrode located above the burner outlets was directed…

Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for seniors

Made in China. Shame on Zippo. Otherwise it works!

Edit: Despite my initial evaluation, I have to say I've had more success with this insert after cleaning and refilling it. Therefore I give more stars. Zippo lighters. An iconic example of Americana. True Extract. The right thing. Real, well-read, testosterone-fueled Alpha Males built America. Radical feminists who have been fighting against masculinity for decades want beta males to be wimps who use matches, lol. Much luck. Therefore, Zippo, like many other American companies, chose to…
