Ethereum Classic can be considered as another cryptocurrency of Ethereum. They have different blockchains and are independent of each other. But they have the same characteristics and even shared the same blockchain (Ethereum) until the hard fork was introduced, which split the blockchain in two (ETC and ETH).
Pros
- Ethereum Classic has the same functionality as ethereum and is designed in such a way that smarter contracts can be executed exactly as programmed without third party intervention. The ETC community claims that DAO smart contracts have been programmed to do so and should not take any action to censor the contracts.
Cons
- Creating a "double blockchain" is a problem that Bitcoin itself has long sought to prevent. It not only creates confusion between investors and end users, but also opens up the possibility of replay attacks in both block chains.
