Make your M.2 2280 detachable

I put it in a 2.5" Syba U2 mobile rack with a 3.5 to 5.25 converter . I used a DiLinKer M.2 in U .2 cable to connect to the M.2 slot on my motherboard. We now have an easily detachable M2 2280. Of note is that the caddy requires SATA power for the M2 to work, this was a bonus for me as I can then use my SATA power button with the KingWin 6 port to power in and out Turning off the operating system and configuration - I love it. I haven't done any official speed tests but it seems very fast, as…

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Not as good as it says

Take full advantage of this SSD in a regular 2.5-inch hard drive bay. Even though the SSD will only communicate at SATA II speeds (because it's not connected to a direct PCIe interface), it will still be a very fast little devil and will never add latency to the SATA II interface. This is a very good use for an older M.2 SSD you might have on hand, and it's good to recycle that storage potential. Try it, you will like it! Enjoy

U.2 connector not SATA

Probably a fantastic product but I was looking for an enclosure to upgrade from Samsung 960 EVO M.2 NVMe V-NAND SSD M Key 250GB to Samsung 970 EVO Plus M 2 NVMe V-NAND SSD M Key 1TB connecting SSD for cloning via SATA. It has a U.2 connector, not SATA. I'm still trying to find an internal M.2 NVMe V-NAND M Key for a SATA enclosure. I found a USB solution that saved my day. Very easy to use item and no screws.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Contact seller

As the era of full SSDs is quickly becoming the norm, this adapter offers M.2 NVMe SSD owners a rubber band -SSD, allowing you to take full advantage of this SSD in a traditional 2.5" hard drive bay. Even though the SSD will only communicate at SATA II speeds (because it's not connected to a direct PCIe interface), it will still be a very fast little devil and will never add latency to the SATA II interface. This is a very good use for an older M.2 SSD you might have on hand, and it's good to…
