I'm new to spinning so hand spinning is never perfect and even but it's fun and I like it. This book makes it possible to see the yarn itself as a work of art. It's amazing to see the colors and the interplay of the fibers when making a ball of yarn. Perhaps one can think yarn for yarn's sake. In fact, the section on what you can do with yarn is superfluous, as yarn loses some of its artistic qualities when turned into a functional item. I don't know why the previous reviewer was mistaken about this being a knitting book as the title even says it's about creative knitting but it follows that even most the best books are can be totally misunderstood. No, this book is not for everyone. It's not for beginners who need to learn the basics. This is not for advanced spinners who need very specific instruction. knitting pattern? Very passable.
