This slot should have a metal connector that connects the battery to the circuit board. Well, the slot on this cheap replacement is too narrow for the factory part. The company that made this part should sell the part with the metal slot or correct their design. None of the parts will fit or work with the original factory parts except for the button rubber cover. I wouldn't waste my money on this if you're just looking for a deal like me.

Good. This was a replacement remote start key fob for a 2015 Lincoln Navigator. somehow like in the picture. I have received a new key. opened up my old key fob and replaced the circuit board with a NEW key fob. Well it didn't work but turns out my NAV key fob had an extra small piece of metal around the battery. This was not the case with the new FOB. So I removed the metal contact from the old one and put it in the new one. It's tight but finally it's perfect and works great. Big money saved…

I used this to replace the rubber button on a 2011 Explorer key fob. That's all, apart from the circuit board, there's no electronics on it, which I didn't expect. With our old one, the contact of the release button on the inside of the rubber pad had broken off. I only replaced part of the rubber button. and retained the original Ford body and manual key. Perfect! My new (to me) car came with a key. smart key. Suddenly my locks went crazy and the alarm went off for no reason, I got locked in the damn car twice because of the remote control the dealer gave me when I bought the car. I decided to buy my smart key case and went to the mechanic to have the brains and guts transferred from the original key fob to the new Revain case. WORKS PERFECT! Absolute rubbish, luckily I only needed buttons as the little caps on the back of my original stayed in place longer. I first tried swapping out the circuit board and using the existing backing but to no avail as they didn't match. I then decided to use the whole key fob and swap the circuit board, but that didn't work as the case itself didn't even stay closed and the original key didn't fit on the back. This is a great idea as the outer parts of the key fob wear out the most. I bought it because I knew the electronics needed replacing, but I didn't. Expect to have to replace the small battery clip. It is very difficult to remove it from the original keychain. After I pulled it out, it didn't fit in the case. I also had a hard time closing it without electronics. There was a small gap at the edge that felt like it wasn't fully engaging. With the electronics inside that seemed to fit perfectly…
