Best Value - Safety

Smaller Footprint, Propane % is always listed. I used an unlit butane gas lighter and it registered 0.7% and dissipated within seconds. This seems to be accurate.

False alarms every day

Not calibrated...still cheap Chinese crap....Alarm goes off daily and there isn't even a source of explosive gas on board our boat....

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Some nuances

Good replacement: gas detectors and alarms

We bought this to replace my RV. We originally had a carbon monoxide/propane detector but they were too expensive. We went with this much cheaper propane detector and got a combination fire/carbon monoxide detector. Now we have everything we need. This propane gas detector is easy to install. The digital display is big and bright. It was a bit smaller than our old unit so we had to change the room it was installed in.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Expensive

replacing garbage.

I have noticed that my propane detector beeps when I get into my trailer. I ordered another one and it was easy to replace. There are no instructions on how to open it to get at the wires. I didn't want to break it so I tried to carefully take it apart. It seemed like something was holding him back, but it wasn't. I used a flat head screwdriver and gently nudged one side and it moved telling me to just pry them apart. When I pulled again, it came loose as intended.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Compatibility

Easy to install for home sensors and alarms

The propane detector on my 2014 Freedom Elite went out in the middle of the night, causing the alarm to go off every minute for 3 HOURS! These things don't "chirp," they make an awful series of long beeps that can't be ignored. And there's always the fear that they might actually detect propane and your RV could explode at any moment. So, per safety protocol, I immediately turned off the propane, aired the RV, then waited 3 hours until I couldn't take it anymore and cut the wires. Turns out I…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
