I'm so glad I bought this thread checking tool, it covered 95% of the nuts and bolts in my 5 gallon bucket and now they're all organized in bins, no throwing away the bucket and no waste more precious time looking for a nut or bolt. I was very relieved when I finished sorting. I only had one basket with odd ball studs and one basket with odd ball nuts that I couldn't size.

Pros
  • Hands free working
Cons
  • Working speed

That's a great idea. Super useful in this day and age of standard versus metric and everything in between. Unfortunately, the labeling on the product was incorrect. Some were clear and easy to read while others were faded and very difficult to read. I'm wondering if after some use all the size tools aren't unreadable. Great idea, just overlooked it. If you can't read it, you don't need it. You can try another brand. SAD because the idea is great. love the steel cable that keeps them all in…

Nice to have but sometimes impractical to use

I have found this thread checking kit to be very useful when doing mechanical repairs on my fleet of older cars. Use on loose nuts and bolts is not a problem, but as other reviewers have pointed out, the inability to remove individual adjustment bolts from the stiff steel wire they are held to makes them difficult, if not impossible, to remove on such Screws to be used are available on the vehicle. If it were possible to temporarily remove them from the mount for use in hard-to-reach places, my

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Reliability

Although the wire rope sling holds all the parts together, the sling eventually becomes a hindrance. I hang it near my parts basket and grab the loose end when I want to use it. The pieces slide along the wire as if running away from me. Inserting an unfamiliar screw into the internal thread of the validator is easy if you use the right bit. But trying to fit the checker's male thread into a solid base is next to impossible, as you have to twist the entire cord around you. I'll probably end up…

Meh, everything is fine. Very incomplete for the price.

Helpful, straight to the point. Does not include some uncommon but common threads found in plumbing, air and gas fittings. So if you're tech savvy like me, you'll need to add a few connectors to this kit. If you're working with brake, fuel, or air lines that are SAE metric, imperial, and NPT, you'll need a different set. Additionally, if you're reaching into a hard-to-reach area, it's impossible to check the threads. Unless you disassemble the cable. Year(s) of Renewal: Relatively LOW quality…

Came with a problem but the manufacturer fixed it!

We have these at work and they are great for quickly checking nuts and bolts to see if they are inch or metric, as well as checking thread size and pitch. I decided I'd like to have one at home after having a small bolt that I had to order a nylock nut for. I knew the sizes were metric, but I wasn't sure of the size or magnitude of the threat. When this item arrived I found that it had two 5mm 0.8 gauges, not a 4mm 0.7 gauge. Rather than immediately sending it back to Revain for a replacement…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • I reply

Still a little pricey for what you get considering missing sizes and missing coarse and fine metrics and all sizes are numbered. Surprised that China's Revain is having no luck with a more complete set at a much lower price. A wired presentation is more suitable for hanging on a perforated whiteboard than for storing in a tool box. A good option would be a set in a matching plastic case. A more pleasant option would be a complete set in each presentation. Mixed package of metric, numbered and…

An anal jack of all trades best friend!

It's an amazingly handy tool, or at least I think so. I'm beyond obsessive about organizing the junk I have, and I've recently taken it to the next level by I have a number of wall boxes and bought this one. One rainy evening I walked into my garage and started sorting through cans and bins full of screws, bolts, nuts and washers that I had accumulated over the years and started sorting them into parts bins and nicely printed labels on them to glue. . After a few hours or even days, my work was

Good idea, well implemented. The price is high but it saves time.

This is a good idea I wanted to make for myself by buying any size screw and bolt and then attaching them to the board so I can test at my leisure how in hardware stores. This idea will work, but if you have a hole and can't lift it up to screw it into a thread on the board, you're stuck. bring the whole piece onto the board. Pros: * The price is high (but the cheapest option I've found for a similar item). * It saves me time - lots of time! Instead of driving an infinite number of unknown…
