Decent slide scanner, but I didn't end up holding it in my hand.

Advantages: Portability. It lives up to its claim as an independent slide, negative and photo scanner. The slides were scanned at a functional resolution of approximately 5700 x 3600. Cons: frame. There is no way (that I found) to set the "scan area" for slides. The resolution above assumes a rectangular scan area, but many of my slides are square. This cut off the slides. Cropping was also done on 5x7 photos. Weak photo scans. Colors in color photographs were poorly transferred due to poorโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Full year warranty and technical support from the American company ClearClick

Great gadget: office electronics

I am very happy with this gadget. Received today and installed immediately. It's really intuitive to use. Contrary to other reviews, I find the guide and negative holder to be pretty solid. The capture screen and menus are big enough to position the slide/negative/photo properly, but for the actual editing you really need another platform like your computer. But with the included SD card, transfer to the computer is very quick, or you can just leave the images on the card. The resolution of 22โ€ฆ

Pros
  • 8GB SD card (for 2000+ photos) and PhotoPad photo editing software (Pro version) included

  • Security

I do not recommend - slide and negative scanner

Yes, it's very easy to use and set up, but that's where the positives end. However, the scanned negatives (and I've tried over 100 with different settings) weren't very good. I know the experts say the best way to archive my photos is so I decided to scan the negatives first. They weren't sharp and didn't meet my simple needs for archiving my photos from the 80's to early 2000's. Nothing difficult to copy. Instead I tried to scan my photos as well - much better than the negatives but still notโ€ฆ

I am very satisfied with this small scanner. I had to scan 16 boxes of 40 year old slides and about 30 photographs. The process was quick and produced high-resolution results. The foils were faded due to age with scratches, but it was still the best solution. It was nice to be able to adjust the brightness and RGB in the preview before scanning. I was able to scan the slide with different settings to choose the best one later. A few tips: 1. Preview the slide before scanning: The scanner oftenโ€ฆ

OK photo, film and slide scanners.

I have scanned about 250 slides with the ClearClick 20 MP converter so far. I have a few thousand left. As expected, the image produced by this converter has nothing to offer. That's fine for a converter in this price range, but a far cry from the image you see when using slides in a projector. Without corrections in the converter settings, the image is a bit dark, too rich in contrast and seems to be dominated by blue/green. They can be corrected with the converter settings or even better with

Pros
  • Slide and negative scanner
Cons
  • Not as thick as other scanners
