I am very satisfied with this small scanner. I had to scan 16 boxes of 40 year old slides and about 30 photographs. The process was quick and produced high-resolution results. The foils were faded due to age with scratches, but it was still the best solution. It was nice to be able to adjust the brightness and RGB in the preview before scanning. I was able to scan the slide with different settings to choose the best one later. A few tips: 1. Preview the slide before scanning: The scanner often takes a few seconds to adjust the light for each slide. Give it this time before scanning or saving the scan. Adjust the brightness as needed (use the ENTER arrow (down) to go to the settings and adjust until the best setting is achieved for each slide. The left arrow rotates the slide horizontally and the right arrow rotates it vertically. Great! None 2. If you need a lightbox to preview a slide before loading it (to see if it's upside down etc) and you don't have one, I used my tablet (iPad) with a blank text editing page in bright white.Works great!3.I liked grouping the slides into folders for each box. After scanning each slides box, I inserted an SD card with the last batch of scanned slides from a box to my computer. On the computer I created a folder in the windows SD card and drag the group of slides from the last drawer to this folder, then you can copy this folder to your computer .Since I s done for someone else it helped me to number the folders and then write that number on the diabox itself to keep everything in order. os make sure you place the size guide on the scanner platen and use the appropriate crop settings. There are the best results! 5. I had problems with the SD card that came with the scanner so I just used another one I had on hand. Maybe my computer is responding. The lock button on the card may move to the locked position, preventing you from creating a folder on the card while you are at your computer. Remove and make sure the button is pushed to the up position. The same applies to inserting an SD card into the scanner. The process of pasting can move the button down.6. I use my basic photo editing program (Preview on Mac in my case) to write notes from a paper slide holder/holder onto a digitally scanned image on my computer.
