Just as good as the original I lost! Ideal.

Just be careful. You need the programming button that came with the original device. Good news, this is a simple doorbell button you can make for less than $5. I got one from the person who installed the system in my area. He had several of these systems. You can also order it or wait for delivery. This is not a reflection of this product, but rather a limitation on the amount of dust it controls. Many installers don't give their customers this control button, so I learned a lesson for the…

Feeling of incompetence - Vehicle safety

I should have done more research before buying. Can't tell if the starter works or not. I consider myself a nice "techie" and am able to understand almost anything with the necessary information. So I bought this item with the expectation that programming it would be pretty easy. Young! Am I wrong? I found help, or at least more detailed instructions, on the manufacturer's website, but their website is a waste of time. They appear to be aimed at dealers and professional installers, not DIYers…

Didn't work for our car electronics

Although this product arrived on time and in good condition we were unable to program it to work with our vehicle even though it was listed as a replacement transmitter. We called 800 and tried everything we were told (including accessing the dashboard) but it just wasn't working with the system we had in our car. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because I believe the problem is with our system, but the product said it was a replacement (and looks the same); However, since it didn't work, Amazon…

At first I was confused, but I googled

Tips on how to guide: 1. The "Valet/Program" button is not on the remote control (transmitter), but a mysterious black button on the dashboard inside near the steering wheel. In my case it was to the left of the steering wheel and drilled into the plastic of the dashboard with a small red LED above it. We stock all aftermarket alarm devices so your situation may vary. 2. When the instructions say "open the door", they mean to open the door and not to close it. The programming does not work if…

Great replacement for my lost Hornet 742T!

I bought a 2008 Hornet 742T remote keyless system. One of the two original remotes was lost meaning I would soon need a replacement or I wouldn't be able to turn off the alarm if the last remote was also lost. The Hornet system is no longer made but was made by Directed Electronics and the original remote looks exactly like this 474T item. I was very concerned if this item would work on my Hornet system. Luckily my Hornet remote had 2/66 and different text on the back of the remote that matched

Works great, just ignore the instructions!

I purchased this remote with the 477T based on reports that it will work with the Hornet 554T system. When I received both remotes, the 474T box did not say it could be used with the 554T system. After further research, I found that any replacement remotes with green activity light and 2^66 codes should work. I have tried using the instructions on the back of the box which state programming on channel 1 to program the remote into the system. This put the remote in one-button mode only, so…
