Installed one on a 2005 Lincoln Navigator (front) that was lowered on this side and the truck was actually raised. Took it to Ford and they put the OEM version in and the suspension worked again. The technician said Dorman parts could be damaged or missing. In this case it was a miss.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Updates

Rest sensors didn't work on my 2005 Ford Expedition

It turns out that Dorman's sensors don't always work on Fords. I bought three and only one worked on my 2005 Expedition. Of course Ford only recommends Ford sensors, but I think there are some aftermarket sensors that will work, but I will definitely not use Dorman sensors.

Cheap replacement parts solution

I don't know if there were wrong readings on both sides, I never took the time to test. The passenger side was too low and the driver's side too high so I replaced them and now my 05 Expedition drives better than when I bought it in 2012. This side comes with a weird bracket that isn't needed so I removed it and had to push the screws out of the bracket and put them in the sensor.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Useless functions

Failed after a year

Great sensor but needs modification to work on my Lincoln. Rivets are used in it. on a sensor that does not match the factory part. As written on YouTube you can remove the bolts and use the factory bracket. If the rivets had not been fitted it would have been an immediate replacement. Great price compared to Ford OEM! Failed to update 10/17 sensor, had to buy OEM from Ford.

Pros
  • Rugged construction - this sensor is made with quality components for reliable performance and long life
Cons
  • Not as thick as other sensors

Much cheaper than the auto parts store

Place this switch in a 2005 Navigator. The dealer wanted a hell of a lot for the install so my brother brought it to me. He bought the same switch at an auto parts store for $160! The dealer told him the wrong side, so the problem didn't go away when we installed it. I checked on Amazon and ordered this one for the other side. Here it is, two days later. Exactly the same for about $60 less. These parts are very easy to install. 15 minutes max. The quality seems good, at least 6 months haveโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Direct replacement - this suspension height sensor fits certain vehicles' original equipment sensor
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Great Value

Crap that fails right away. This one seems to fall into a decent category. This was installed about 2 weeks ago and fixed the problem. Our Ford OE blocks have become stiffer over the 11 years and popped out of the ball joints. Believe it or not, this is a common problem on Ford models with air suspension and it takes less than an hour to fix both sides - search FordTechMakuloco on YouTube and it will help you fix your Ford :) . For replacement parts, examine the old part of your car carefullyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Make Sure It Fits - To make sure this part fits your vehicle enter make, model and trim level into Amazon Garage
Cons
  • Exorbitant price
