Description of Hi-Res Philips Fidelio L2BO Over-ear Premium Portable Headphones with In-line Mic, Noise Isolation - Black/Orange

High Resolution Audio offers the best in audio performance, reproducing original studio master recordings more faithfully than 16bit/ 44. 1kHz CD formats. This uncompromising quality makes High Resolution Audio the best sound companion for the music lover. Fidelio headphones meet the stringent standards required for the Hi-Res Audio stamp of quality. Hand-picked and paired 40mm high definition drivers. The neodymium drivers respond to all your music's dynamics. The design includes a vent in the centre which emphasises the middle and low frequencies, producing the acoustic energy that brings extended yet controlled bass and a transparent mid-range. Universal remote, mic, 6.3mm adapter and pouch makes it a perfect pairing with your mobile devices for listening and talking on-the-go. Aluminum earshells selected for their strength reduce unwanted vibration and resonance. They are mounted on a layer of engineering plastics to make the headphones even more stable. The semi-open back design combines the balanced, transparent sound of an open back with the deep bass and noise isolation expected from a fully closed back.

lightweight and durable construction. Good clarity and worth every penny.

Amazing I have l1 and x2 and wanted something more portable which wasn't too important to me. I missed the sale and bought it for 100 but I have a second pair as a backup so I don't have to worry about using them at work. I particularly like my headphones, where both aesthetics and sound are important. If you're used to the headphones that came with your phone, or the Beats or whatever, then you're missing out on much better clarity. I can't wait to get X3 and if they make l3 I will definitely…

Decent sound and price but broke after 6 months

After researching similar headphones and considering my past satisfaction with various Philips products I bought this pair. I am very satisfied with the sound, especially when listening to music videos. Could fit my head better but wasn't the deciding factor for me. Now, almost exactly 6 months after purchase, the connector where the cable connects to the headphones is broken and the cable is loose. These things had only discreet use on my desk. Looking at it now, that broken little plastic…

Almost perfect for what it is overall

My only criticism of these headphones is the overall comfort. The headband has almost no padding. It looks like a thin piece of leather sewn onto metal, which it basically is. The clamping force is also too high. The ear cushions do not have memory foam insulation. It's just foam. They just fit my small ears. But what bothers me the most is the hat. These are the first headphones where I find the headband really hard to tolerate. I'll probably buy a headband cover for her after the sale. sound…

Very good but not for me

Bought Fidelio L2 on a whim as I have a closed headset (Takstar Pro 82) that I love but wanted to try open or semi-open . Also, the great Z reviews inspired me to develop it. The main uses are games with occasional listening to music. The headset looks good and is very well made. Definitely will last if you are not careless. The wearing comfort was ok, since I have small ears and the cups just fit over them. Not much free disk space. Also, after an hour or so, they just felt uncomfortable and…

This porridge is amazing!

Possibly the best headphones I've ever owned. I mean the previous ones weren't a match but I still use my Superlux HD661 with my little amp and it works wonders. While they are by far my first choice for ALL music listeners at home, I wouldn't recommend using them outdoors unless you're walking around in a noisy place as they can get quite leaky at higher volumes. So far I've found the classics to be adequate, nothing by Tchaikovsky sounded bad, although I felt there were a few things missing…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Only available in black

They released it in 2014 and eventually after many great reviews they replaced the drivers with lower quality ones. They updated the specs but not the model number. So when you look at the reviews all the old good ones show up but what they are selling now sounds completely different but has the same name and look. This type of decoy and switch should be illegal when it isn't, and enforceable when it is. I got some of these in 2017 and I really like them as they are the same as described in old

Pros
  • Good build
Cons
  • Useless features

I'm impressed! Exactly the product deserves your attention.

I do not understand those people who write "the sound is terrible." Did you want perfect headphones at the level of sony mdr-7606 in no way lower for a price below 1k? Some people don't have enough bass. I compared it with the sony mdr-zx700 and they have much less of them (namely bass, THE SOUND IS NOT BETTER!). Great option for little money. I've been using it almost every day for over a year.

Pros
  • Price. Good sound. Fabric ear pads. A good cable is elastic.
Cons
  • Uncomfortable design - uncomfortable sitting on the head, pressing, but eventually got used to it. Wooden plastic - dried out over time and began to creak.

Great headphone set!

First of all you need an amplifier, DAC or other sound card to drive these things. I connect mine to the Logitech G560 speakers on the back and have yet to turn that audio on. It is what it is. BUT it is absolutely amazing. I was afraid to leave HyperX Cloud Core. I've been really considering buying the Takstar Pro 82, for those who don't know, the Takstar Pro 80-82 are basically the same as the HyperX range - they're the same headphones repurposed for gaming. I didn't buy Takstars because the…

It's all good if you can get a discount

I've had these headphones for over a year now. Since purchasing these headphones I've delved into the world of audiophiles and have spent a lot more on add-on gear like amps and DACs and other headphones. For reference I have a Sennheiser HD650 [Primary Open Ear[, Phillips Fidelio X2 [Secondary Open Ear], Phillips Fidelio L2, Sanheiser Momentum 2.0 Wireless, Sanheiser PXC550s so the comparison will be to oranges, apples and pineapples. None of the headphones I have overlap with the L2 use case.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Phillips Fidelio L2 great for the price

This is a review of Phillips Fidelio L2. Got them for $100 on Black Friday and in the 6 weeks I've had them it's a steal for the price. The packaging is beautiful, a large box with protective padding to protect the headphones. In addition to the headphones, the box includes a fabric carrying case, 2 detachable cables (one with a single-button microphone and one without) and several booklets. The headphones have a very good build quality. Metal on the case and straps with a dark metallic finish.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion
