Description of Motive Products - 0115 Late GM Plastic MC πŸ’ͺ Power Bleeder: Boost Efficiency and Simplicity in Brake System Maintenance

Motive Products Power Bleeder kits use pressurized brake fluid to force air and old fluid out of your brake lines. Just pour clean fluid into the pressure tank, attach the Power Bleeder cap to your fluid reservoir, and pressurize the system using the built-in hand pump and pressure gauge. The kits are available for a variety of master cylinders. Recommended for rectangular master cylinders.

Compatible with 1997 Chevy K1500

Used this on my 1997 K1500 and read several times before buying what would suit my truck and if you are looking for the best way to solo brake bleed this is the one right for you.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Expensive

Terrible product. Not next to the master cylinder

Terrible product. Not next to the master cylinder. Tech support recommended using an AC clamp as the hook and chain method is inferior. Still does not work. The second pump motif that I bought and turned out to be scrap. I will not buy another. I totally wasted my day trying to get this piece of poorly designed junk to work.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Lots of things

Works but has flaws

Good product but has flaws. To avoid all the cleaning mess, I only used it to build up air pressure to aid in bleeding. He was working on a 1967 Mustang with a Wilwood tandem master cylinder. I didn't use chains but instead used a clip to hold it in place which was a bit difficult to find without hitting the hood and difficult to adjust perfectly to avoid leaking. The maximum pressure I could get was 10psi. The hoses are short which was quite frustrating. However allows one person to bleed and…

Works as promised, but not without effort.

I used this to bleed the brakes on a 1994 Buick Roadmaster. The adapter plate that plugs onto the master is a good size. It was very difficult for me to get it sealed. A lot of the reviews you see suggest using an AC clamp to hold it. I used two 5" clamps and a set of chains to finally get a good seal after many failed attempts and lots of spills. The 5 inch clip barely fits around. I put one in the middle and one in front. Knowing what I know now, I would buy 6 inch clamps for this job. I…

Great concept. Poor performance and poor quality.

Pumping is a good idea, especially if you don't have a helper. However, this is only good if it works as advertised. I'll look for a better quality alternative if I make one. Good: The container is a good size and durable. The concept is great. Bad: The plate is not sticking to the master cylinder. There are some indentations in the rubber (see photo) that create a path for the brake fluid waterfall with the hardware attached. The hose has a "set" in the box, so it acts like a coil spring…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

If you have the white plastic container shown in the picture you can use this brake bleeder. It's not perfect, and it's not as fast as adapters that screw on. Before installing, apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to the rim of the tank where the adapter plate meets. First you need the 6" clamp that others have recommended (it goes right in the middle), if not two (better) slightly pressed (if using a 6" clamp) on each side if you use one of the ones provided Clamps use chains and J-bolts…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel

Lots of small issues that were easy and inexpensive to fix

Lots of small issues that could and should have been fixed during testing at no extra cost.1. Doesn't sit tight on the tank. It is necessary to add petroleum jelly and additional clamps for caulking. There was still a 9psig limit. The gasket is 1/4 inch and is very tight so it doesn't compress at all. A more compressible seal would solve this problem. Hook. Simply supplying flanged wing nuts instead of washers would simplify the fitment at no additional cost. 4. The included bleed screw hose is

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Nothing here

Works better than I expected.

So I saw an advertisement for this thing on YouTube. At first glance I thought it might be flimsy plastic and probably junk. I watched the video and it seemed easy enough, and since the last time I had my brakes bled at a local service center, it cost almost a hundred bucks, I figured if this thing works, it will do itself after one use amortize. My brakes in my '97 Chevy Tahoe were a bit soft and I haven't bled the brakes since I had them. So I decided to try this thing on my Tahoe. I vacuumed
