Good test equipment

I bought it to work with boat engines. It has good range, accuracy and is easy to use. You will need a contrast stripe on the crank pulley, but white tape is included. A good product to throw in the hold and still work (but doesn't look as pretty).

Pros
  • Industrial and scientific equipment
Cons
  • No power

Accurate, Reliable, Trouble Free

I've been using the treadmill to calibrate on various console boards for the past few days. This is 100% consistent with using belt length/revolutions/time to measure belt speed in feet per second and then miles per hour. It looks well designed and durable. The battery compartment is a little tight, but it's not critical. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Speedometer
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Unreliable readings

I was looking for rotating objects and bought five tachometers. This is the most expensive thing I've bought. I like the fast reading and the backlit display. But I'm disappointed that about five percent of the readings are completely wrong. I'm sure I'm wrong because when I plot the topside RPM droop readings, some of the readings are off the smooth curve by hundreds of rpm.

Pros
  • Check, measure and check
Cons
  • Can't remember
