Description of ๐Ÿ”ฅ High Performance Oval Port Exhaust Header Gasket - Remflex 3010

1-1/4 inch width x 2-3/32 inch height Oval Port; Ford V8 - 429 ('68-'73), 460 ('68-'87), (Except Cobra Jet) Oval Port, For Carbureted Engines, 2/Set. Not for fuel injected engines. Manifold or headers. Heating and cooling of the exhaust system causes header and manifold flanges to warp resulting in gaps between the head and header which Remflex exhaust gaskets seal completely due to the thickness and compressibility of the 100 percent flexible graphite. There are no rubber binders or composite materials in Remflex exhaust gaskets so they will not shrink or harden due to time or temperature eliminating the need to go back and continually retighten your flange bolts.

Rem flex pads stop exhaust leaks

I did some research and thicker Remflex pads are worth the extra money. They compensate for minor variations in the manifold flanges and compress well compared to older fiber gaskets. Ford 460s are notorious for stubborn exhaust leaks. It stopped my flow. My engine has 570 hp. with non-original collectors.

Pros
  • replacement parts
Cons

very thick, but be careful when installing.

is very thick, but be careful when installing because it's a bit fragile. About the quality of the sealing, I can really honestly answer, since I have not yet started the engine. will follow.

They should be called Leak Plugs

I have two cars with 460's (A 79 F100 and 77 Mercury Cougar). Both have aftermarket titles. The supplied seals proved to be unusable in both cases. I've had *some* success with OEM style "exhaust manifold gaskets" but they always leaked a day or so after installation. I switched to these and forgot the cost at first, but they are worth it. These pads will wrinkle slightly when tightened, creating a very good seal on uneven surfaces. I won't use anything else. Revain has the best price for her.

Pros
  • Exhaust Manifold
Cons
  • Some Problems

This is phenomenal! I am a trained car mechanic. I don't work much on performance, mostly I fix production cars. I never liked headlines because they get leaked. I bought them to help a friend with his truck. It's an old Ford with a 460 and leaking manifold flanges. This is the third set of gaskets I've installed this year. These are the only ones that didn't leak shortly after starting the engine. We've driven 200 miles and still no leak. They are silent and there is no soot around the flange.

Pros
  • Seals
Cons
  • Only available in white
