I read about these speaker stands many years ago and knew I needed a pair for my home theater. I have a pair of Allison Acoustics AL-115 speakers as a network and these stands are perfect for them. Fast forward 15 years and I finally got around to ordering them. They're strong and sturdy, which is good, because although Sanus *claims* you can fill them with ball bearings, sand, grit, kitty litter, or other stuff. Things I haven't found a way to actually do it. As other reviewers have pointedโ€ฆ

Important - read the manual, good visual design but poor engineering

A stand is often recommended. I find the visual design quite appealing. It's human nature to just put them together and not read the instructions. The legs are different. If you turn the legs over in the deep recess, it's a number (1 or 2 [difficult to read]). Leg #1 should be on the front left and back right. Legs #2 should be right front and left back. Wobbly mess otherwise. When using spikes on metal discs (hard floor) it doesn't work - doesn't come up to top level Screw in front spikes allโ€ฆ

Doesn't really assemble upright

Unlike other reviewers, they are NOT shaky at all. My speakers are slightly overweight and the stands are solid. However, the curved steel base plate is not always flat. If you attach the vertical tubes of equal length and the two mounting points are not parallel to the floor plane, the vertical tubes will not be plumb and the speaker top plate will not be level. On one of the pairs (I bought two pairs) the bottom steel plate isn't straight and the two vertical tubes aren't the same lengthโ€ฆ

Nice looking solid bases

These 22 inch bases are exactly what I expected. They were on my list for over a year but I was afraid to buy because I wasn't sure the height would be the best. Now I would like to get them a few months ago. The weight is significant and that was one of my main requirements. It connects easily and is difficult to tip over. My plan was to fill it with sand but now I don't think I need it. We're still discussing that. My speakers are large bookshelf models and look really nice on stands. I putโ€ฆ

This is the stand: Furniture

These stands aren't bad but the assembly instructions are so bad that I've decided to offer some advice. The first thing to note is that there is no indication in the instructions for placing the right legs on the right corners of the baseplate that this is done with the baseplate REVERSED. It's easier for the legs to slide when done from the side rather than straight. The foot number is small, weak, and deep in the bottom of the foot. The foundation will lay flat if done correctly. High quality, functionality - a few things to note

I was impressed with the quality of these stands, from the weight and finish to the thoughtful mounting options to the packaging and part markings. Stability: The speakers I installed are heavy at 15 pounds each, but once installed the entire structure feels very stable. I imagine putting speakers on the stand (with attached with the supplied sharp pins or rubber pads). ). ). . For me, not having to screw the top of the stand to the speakers is a welcome relief.
