I'm not sure how the product can withstand 400 degrees.

I don't know how a product can take 400 degrees, then go down to 60, stick to powder coated metal and still be non toxic. I couldn't find it at any local store - of any kind. I needed this to plug some of the places where smoke might be leaking from a recently purchased smoker. It has very simple instructions, applies about the same as bathroom caulking and cleans up well if wiped off right away. It's been up and running for about a month now - still stable and working exactly as described.

Pros
  • Self curing easy to apply
Cons
  • boring packaging

And a seal to MANAGE them all.

This is the BEST sealant I have ever used. It is the superglue of sealants. This is FOOD SAFETY. You don't need much to bond smooth surfaces, even smooth concrete. It has a STRONG vinegar smell that will go away in about a day. It doesn't come cheap, but it's a moral trait when you're working with water, sinks, kids and anyone who has chemical safety concerns and needs to make sure there aren't any recalls. If you're going to use it in a finished area, you'll need to hold it back and, once it's

Barbecue smokers - be careful!

This material is not suitable for fireplaces. I have a 1/4" Offset Steel Smoker. The firebox allowed smoke/heat through the top cover and I wanted to close it with this material. Based on most reviews it looks like it will work. Not right! - Adhesion is very good I used the wax paper method and it worked great After curing, as with all silicones, the excess or "streaks" were easily removed with a razor blade - Fairly easy cleanup - This material sealed mine Firebox perfect. I mean tight, tight,
