Is a 410 stainless steel self-drilling tip softer than steel?

I used these screws to attach the horizontal posts that hold the carport cover together. The brackets that came with it didn't quite hold up in strong winds. They should work and last for years. It might even survive the canopy. Although I thought 410ss was heavier than steel sticks. Self-drilling tips will be rounded after passing through the clamps. I had to drill with a cobalt drill. Maybe the logic of the steel shelter is really tricky!

  • SELF TAP

#8 Stainless Steel Self Tapping Screws

I used to pre-drill holes with an 1/8" bit when I was going to cut in metal doors and Phillips tends to cut out the Phillips head. I used them for outdoor weather to prevent rust. Although they were supposed to be self-tapping screws but wanted a Phillips head screwdriver, most people had a Phillips head screwdriver when the door needed painting. Torx or square drive steel doors drill better and the head doesn't come off as easily. A lot of people don't have a torx or square head screwdriver…

  • Fasteners

Very Good (updated with photos)

Used for various interior steel and aluminum projects. About a year later pulled a few. They were used to hold the AC unit. They have held up very well. The rust is actually coming from the outer metal, not the screws. The case also held up very well. Doesn't look like he's undressed. Self-drilling tips are also in good condition. I've used them again to drill holes in aluminum frames. - Excellent drive system. Forget Phillips. There is no camouflage. - strong enough for a powerful driver…

Stainless screws for attachment

They work as they should. All reviews showing rust and reporting breakage are due to user error. Using a carbon steel screwdriver will leave traces of the carbon steel on the steel. Because steel is softer than stainless steel. If your racquet spins/spins in your head, the material transfer is even more exaggerated. The problem with these glitches arises from users twisting and/or overheating them when attempting to insert them. Stainless steel screws break like any other if not tightened…
