Not like 4 years ago

I bought the same brand and style, just a different color, 4 years ago when my daughter started walking. They were perfect for her chunky legs as we needed something roomy. My son is the same this time, so I was happy to find the same style and availability across a wide range. But he has been wearing these shoes for less than 2 months and the velcro has already worn so much that the shoes no longer close. I will contact Stride-Rite to see if there is anything they can do, or at least let them…

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • My son has been wearing the shoes for about 2 weeks now and they no longer stick to the velcro. Bad quality for the price.

The velcro didn't last more than a month.

Initially I really liked this pair of shoes. Everything fit well, good support and my son started walking much better. Unfortunately after a month the velcro stopped working properly and the shoe fell off every time he walked in it rendering it unusable. Hopefully others haven't had the same issue as it's frustrating to spend so much on a pair of shoes that only last a month.

Pros
  • The best shoes for my wide foot boy!
Cons
  • The strap was too short to close. It was a waste of money.

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A quality shoe strap could be longer.

This is a well made beautiful shoe. My only complaint is that the strap barely holds up when my son wears thicker socks. The sole came off within two weeks.

Pros
  • It was an excellent choice. If you have a child with wide feet... These shoes are for you. loved her.
Cons
  • Sole fell off after 2 weeks

Perfect! to my rating.

These shows fit so perfectly! She's learning to walk alone and this is the first shoe she doesn't have to take off!🙌🏼 That's my feedback!

Pros
  • The soft and flexible sole protects your child's feet while they learn to walk and explore the world.
Cons
  • Sneakers may not be suitable for toddlers with wide feet.

Great show for very wide children's legs

It is very difficult to buy shoes for my little one who has too wide feet. I was glad to find these shoes at Walmart. The shoes fit my little one perfectly!

Pros
  • This is the best shoe for baby's wide/bulky feet....
Cons
  • The Velcro stopped sticking after 3/4 weeks making the shoe unusable.

Take care of the straps good for me

I wanted to give this a 5 star rating. It really started like that. After a few weeks, the Velcro on the shoelace was completely worn out. Now the shoes will not stick to the child's foot. Just today the strap came loose causing the shoe to come off and my child tripped and scratched his face. Considering how much these shoes cost, they should last more than a few weeks.

Pros
  • 100% justifies the cost. So easy to get in, to stay and so high quality.
Cons
  • The style may not be suitable for all occasions

Velcro is completely torn

These were the only shoes that fit my son and I was so glad we found them! But after a month the velcro on both sides fell off completely and he can't wear them anymore or they fall off. I am so disappointed.

Pros
  • My boy loves his first shoes
Cons
  • Good sturdy shoes but the strap needs to be longer. Easy to put on and wide for swollen baby feet.

PERFECT my rating

I bought several pairs of these shoes for my grandchildren who are just learning to stand and walk. Perfect fit for small wide feet. mothers love them.

Pros
  • I love all the Stride Rite shoes that I have bought for my grandson, they are great.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be durable for rough play

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent quality in my rating.

I really liked these shoes for my toddler for his new walking experience. The fit is perfect, only the strap could be a little longer. He has big feet and the strap doesn't reach the Velcro. They are easy to use and durable for daily baby care.

Pros
  • Larger size for kids with big feet. Perfect fit for my son - comfortable shoes
Cons
  • After a few months of wearing, the velcro no longer holds and the shoes keep coming loose.

Great little shoe: my review

I've always bought Stride Rite shoes for my kids and now I'm buying them for my granddaughter who has narrow feet. Thank god Stride Rite, otherwise she'd be barefoot the whole time! She cried over every other shoe we tried until we found the very wide SRT. Thanks StrideWright!

Pros
  • I sent them to my daughter for her grandson and she replied that she had the same shoes in her basket to buy. Love her!
Cons
  • I liked these shoes but they only lasted 2 months before the velcro stopped sticking.

Broken Velcro: my review

We've had these boots less than 2 months and the velcro won't close. With moderate use it's already so worn it's not holding up and my son's shoes keep falling off. Strongly annoying.

Pros
  • Specially designed for boys who are always on the move and need a comfortable and durable running shoe.
Cons
  • Running shoes may not provide enough traction for toddlers learning to walk.

So cute, great first shoe

The Stride Rite is always reliable and good, I know I can rest assured that my child's feet are well protected and in developmentally appropriate shoes. These are my daughter's first hiking shoes and they are too cute. Fits her well and she is comfortable and exploring!

Pros
  • Great first shoe
Cons
  • The velcro on these shoes turned them into garbage after a month. They wouldn't stay closed anymore and kept falling off my son's feet.

Precisely! in my opinion

I bought these shoes for my son. They are lightweight, easy to put on and stay in place. He's a big little guy so I bought him an X-Wide. All other shoes I tried didn't fit or kept falling off. I love these shoes!

Pros
  • Great shoes but expensive!
Cons
  • The loose fit may not be suitable for all babies.

Cute shoes - be sure to measure

Bought these for our 1 year old for his birthday. They are affordable, functional and pretty. I had a weird time measuring his foot because the baby instructions are so weird. So be sure to measure beforehand. The first day we got him we put them on and he just wore a jumpsuit. He ran through the house in overalls and boots. It was stupid. It took a while for him to take one off, and then my dad called him "a shoe, a shoe." It was amazing and fun at the same time. These shoes do the job and I…

Pros
  • How fit.
Cons
  • The color may not match all baby outfits.

Mistakes do me good

I ordered them wrong, love the look and durability of the shoes. I only received one shoe in the package. I have not attempted to reorder at this time

Pros
  • I like the durability and the look.
Cons
  • The price may not be affordable for some customers

Velcro sucks

I really liked these shoes - they fit perfectly and he looked smart going to kindergarten. They were shoes worn in the car to look good. He is barefoot in kindergarten. I noticed he was starting to lose his right boot and I finally found out why - the velcro upper is gone. For $50 I expected his shoes to last over 2 months considering he's not walking yet!

Pros
  • Contains a secure double hook and loop closure that makes it easy for parents to put on and take off the shoes.
Cons
  • Trainers may not be suitable for toddlers with narrow feet.

Perfect for a little body wiggle

They are perfect for my 16 month old baby. They fit very snugly and flexibly around his leg, allowing him to move freely without carrying a heavy load. He walks best in these shoes.

Pros
  • My daughter loves them for a great baby. The fit is wonderful and it has great balance and support.
Cons
  • Sneakers may not be appropriate for toddlers with sensory processing issues.

DO NOT trust the width!

I bought these for my grand xxw and was very disappointed as they didn't work to their widest limits. Perhaps a blessing in disguise given the Stride Rite prices. I went to Wal-Mart and bought $19 cream colored 100% leather baby shoes, real leather sneakers! They were perfect, so now WalMart will go to work for this cute, wide-legged kid.

Pros
  • Quality shoes from a well-known brand that we trust
Cons
  • I didn't know there was a return policy. The shoes were too small for my grandson

I love BUT new review

I like it but wish it was more for the strip. He won't hold the velcro on any of these as if it's too tight on the top of his leg.

Pros
  • Sporty, stylish and functional.
Cons
  • The color may fade or change over time through wear and washing.

Finally! In my opinion

These are the only closed toe shoes our baby can put on from birth without kicking or crying! Finally the shoes are wide enough and don't chafe your feet! They are easy to put on which is another bonus. The sizing chart on the Stride Rite website was spot on for length (but not width - it said they weren't wide enough, and they're fine). They worked so well we bought a second pair to keep at my grandparents house.

Pros
  • Offers excellent value given Stride Rite's reputation for quality and durability.
Cons
  • Sneakers can be uncomfortable for toddlers with flat feet.
