Good NAS server on devices

Bought device and crashed almost every night while transferring data. It hung so bad I had to do a hard reset. After working with Terramaster, they realized the unit was defective and sent me a new one. Since I got the new one I haven't had any more problems. It was a problem at first, but the support was pretty decent.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Doesn't work best on devices for me

I bought it thinking it was a good Nas, super fast but it was so slow and gave me so many errors. I sent it back to Revain and bought a Synology and now it's perfect, no problem.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Hard to say

Terrible software - computers and accessories

This is the second TNAS NAS I have bought. The first erased about 6TB of data during a hard drive upgrade. There should have been a simple hot swap and then bam.data was gone. They gave them another chance. I went to a foreign country. Tries to access my drive. I wanted to update TOS (their online operating system). I upgraded, it didn't work halfway through. Another 3 TB lost. Fuck it all. They're cheaper for some reason. Get something better.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Not satisfied with everything

The support is terrible and the product is buggy

Pros: - I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality, specs and feature set of this device, especially at this price point - However, the user interface is clean and easy to use I found all a bit flawed and I'm worried about the security of his data. Cons: - Some parts of the UI show translation issues when whole words are not translated into English. I don't really care, but it sure is sloppy. The mobile application is not yet ready for production. It lacks the most basic features and looks

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Negative experience

Great hardware but not a very good OS

First off I received an F8-422 which failed after 120 days of use. I'm sure this was a rare occurrence and Terramaster support was responsive, helpful and sent me a replacement as soon as I shipped the faulty unit. It's not clear which component failed, but the logs showed "CMCI Storm Detected: Switching to Polling Mode" before the system hung/shutdown, indicating there was likely a RAM or motherboard issue. The new device worked perfectly. The only thing I don't like about this product is the…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubt

F4-422 TerraMaster Tnas (with optional 10TB Seagate Ironwolf HDD)

I've wanted a NAS for a long time and had no experience with traditional 1U or 2U products or software - I was caught in a black cloud with backup and storage. Until I found this guy. That's great. Some reviews say it's noisy when it is, but it's not as bad as you might think. I'm typing this on a mechanical keyboard and the keystrokes are clearer than the files I'm about to transfer to the NAS. After looking at other solutions like Qnap, Asustor, Synology etc. each of them had little nuances…
