It has been several months since I purchased this product and I am very happy to inform you to be able to say that this is JA Henckels International Fine Edge Hon is excellent works! JA Henckels is a manufacturer with a very good reputation and has been around for a very long time. I use a sharpener in between with a sharpener on all my knives. A few quick pulls around the edge and my knives are razor sharp again. The round handle fits comfortably in your hand and does not slip out of your…

Does the job, nothing special

Look, that's a good value sharpening stone. If you don't have it, but you need it and don't want to spend money on it, that's enough. I bought it because I forgot mine somewhere and didn't want to spend a fortune on one knowing I would get my other one back. The size is about as short as a honing rod and it did the job. Like a cheap plastic pen, thin stick, not very flattering but it works. However, when I realized I had lost my good one forever, I invested more in the Zwilling Pro version for…

Basic Knife Honing Machine

This is a decent knife honing machine sold at a great price. If you don't understand what sharpening is or how to do it, Elton Brown has a very good YouTube video called Avoidance Training Video. Basically, he passes the blade over the grinding surface 5 times on one side, 4 times on the other side, 3 times on the original side, 2 times on the opposite side, and then once on the original side. As another reviewer mentioned, this item is made in China, not Germany. As you can see in my photo the

What steel! on knife sharpener

This steel is fantastic at this price. As soon as I unpacked it, I immediately used it for my cooking and carving knives. My knives have been sharpened the way I like them, sharp. Before that I had more expensive steel. It took over five years. But he had to be released. When I saw that, I didn't want to at first. But the reviews made me want to at least try. For $11.99 I wouldn't kick myself too hard if it was a bad product. But it's not a bad product. I use my steel regularly. If this product

Great steel for the price

The quality of this sharpener is as expected. The pen looks a little cheap but given the price my money goes into the steel barrel and not the pen or similar features. The handle and shaft have become sufficient for their purpose. Nothing special, but the build quality is okay. The steel rod itself is great. This is a more classic round style compared to oval and has a nice and even finish. 9 inch stainless steel is great for utility knives. It doesn't "sharpen" your knife, but it sharpens you…
