Review on Dell FR3PK 34 Inch LED Lit Monitor, 60Hz, Swivel & Tilt Adjustment, Anti-Glare Coating, USB Hub, U3417W, HD by Randall Hunter

I bought this monitor because I work with video and 3D and needed a larger monitor for performance reasons. I upgraded from a 24" 1080p monitor and it offers a whole new PC experience. The first thing that struck me after setting up this monitor was its size. It fills my field of view perfectly and the extra pixels on the sides (21:9 vs 16:9) are very nice. I used to have a small 25" ultrawide monitor and it really didn't make a good impression on me. This monitor changes that. The Dell U3417W will blow your mind. I find the pixel density on this monitor to be ideal. It's not overly sharp and is a nice upgrade of 1080p. At 1080p I could only see the pixels but everything feels clear and natural on this monitor including small text which was a problem with my previous display. I am also very happy with the color accuracy of this monitor. I work Lots of Photoshop and there are absolutely no color bars on this display even when going from solid black to white from a long distance which my last display couldn't.Colors are also accurate at 99% sRGB which I really appreciate.I have Also played light games on this monitor and the increase in field of view and the fact that the monitor occupies my peripheral vision make gaming a thing of the past a much smoother experience, even at a 60Hz refresh rate. This panel also has no ghosting or afterimages, even when looking at bright white objects for long periods of time. But the real reason this display shines is when watching movies in the 21:9 aspect ratio. Movies like The Dark Knight Rises and The Force Awakens look great on this display and it has completely changed my viewing experience. I don't think I'll be watching movies on any screen other than the cinema now. In summary, if you want accurate color reproduction, large screen size and improved pixel density above 1080p, this monitor is excellent. The only downside to this monitor is the 60Hz refresh rate, which is not suitable for gaming. Regardless, this is the best ultrawide monitor for color work under $750 in my opinion, and if you've never experienced a 21:9 ultrawide screen before, be prepared to be amazed.
