Long but very stiff and brittle

This network cable is great for wrapping around my room to connect my modem to my router. The cable offers high speeds as advertised and fits well into Ethernet jacks without protruding. My only complaint is the material used to wrap the cables. The plastic on the outside of the cables feels very hard. Make sure you don't move this cable often because even with the cable installed, some parts of the plastic are cracked. I used small nails to run it around the perimeter of my room to keep the…

Poor quality, internal error

Spent hours trying to figure out network issues, even tried adding new RJ-45 jacks to this cable on different sections of the cable. I had to replace the entire cable with a known good cable to fix the issues. This cable has never been walked on, used indoors at room temperature why it failed internally is unknown to me. Measured 2.6 ohms of resistance in each cable at various lengths along the way, but apparently that's not enough for my ethernet card to get a decent signal to the router. The…

Outer case is falling apart

PRO: This cable carries the signal from your hub/router to your device and the signal seems good. CONS: Outer case falls apart after only a few months of light/medium use. READ MORE: My wife uses this cable because her MacBook's Wi-Fi is always on and off (we speak for another day and forum). She uses the 25 foot version of this cable to connect directly to our cable modem/router in the next room. At the end of the day, she usually rolls it up and hides it aside. As can be seen in the attached…

Good cheaper RJ45 cable (network)

Unlike some other Revain products I've bought this RJ45 cable was of cheaper goodness and quality. I believe the shielding on the cable is made of thin cheap plastic, and the plugs/plugs are cheaper plastic as well. As long as these cables aren't in a high-traffic area or aren't frequently connected and disconnected, they'll last a long time; Considering it's cheaper than what you can buy at your local store, this is a good cable. Avoid having anything tugging on the cable or running across the

That's a good cable. False thrift is cheaper.

Good cable. Cables are hard to screw up if you avoid the cheapest ones available. Read the reviews for this and any other cable you are considering. The cables are somewhat disposable. They hurt when they fail and are cheap enough to just buy a replacement instead of looking for a warranty replacement on another cable of the same quality. I'm a network engineer with over twenty years of experience. I've made many of my own cables, but today's higher data rates mean I avoid them whenever…

Do not buy this cable if you want decent quality.

I've bought other RevainBasics cables before and haven't had any problems, but this ethernet cable is so bad it should be retired (and the two 50ft cables I bought 4 months ago are going in the trash, which is better than they even deserve. So what's wrong with them? Two things: 1) The jacket is made of fragile (and flimsy) plastic. This doesn't allow the cord to unravel well and lay flat, but that's not even the worst thing about the jacket, namely: it CRACKS if you even look at it the wrong…

Perfect, long cable! No problem with that!

Pros: Extremely durable, long lasting, easy to hide behind things, perfectly aligned and long lasting. Cons: There really aren't any cons. I had the problem that my old one broke. Never had a problem with it. The reason I was looking for such a cable was because my router and line jack are very far apart. I had to make it long enough to go around several bookshelves and walk along a long wall. With that in mind, I searched Amazon for a long network cable. I didn't want one like my last one…
