This fabric is 100% cotton as advertised. It's easy to cut. The plates did not catch fire when used in the microwave. The cloth protected my hands from the heat of the bowl. I would buy this again.

Bought this to make some cozy microwave towels. Every time we heat a bowl of soup, the bowl is too hot to lift. When using cotton yarn, cotton fabric and this cotton wool, the jacket will not catch fire. My regular sewing thread is 100% polyester as Coates and Clark threads have a polyester core wrapped in cotton. My machine shreds the cotton and it climbs up the cord, creating a crease in the thread. It won't work as the polyester thread will melt in the microwave.
