Nice power supply upgrade.

I got a deal on a Dell i7 computer and want to add more drives and peripherals, but the mid-size processor case only had a 250w PSU and there was no power cord for the graphics card and I work from working at home as a graphic designer and illustrator/photographer/editor/video producer so I need at least one gaming computer. This power supply was recommended on a video blog for upgrading my particular Dell. Installation was easy, doubled the CPU power, and had all the connections, including…

In use for almost 4 years, easy to install, serves its purpose.

Almost 4 years ago I had some problems with my computer and was having trouble diagnosing them. I ended up buying one of these, installed it with relative ease, and it solved all my problems. Fast forward almost 4 years now: more computer problems and a very slight and barely noticeable burning smell from this power supply. This time it didn't take a genius to solve the problem so I bought the same item again and once again it solved everything. This device is easy to install (just be careful…

It was horrible to install

What I didn't like about this product: - It took a week to get here despite the free shipping. I had to wait two days for all other parts of my computer to be here - the install was the worst. These are male connectors that connect to the motherboard and graphics card. Each has a different number of teeth and one had about 16 teeth which I needed to fit in the motherboard. Well, in addition to the extra bit, which is an extra bit that's really just taking up space, I had to put together a…

Now turns off under load

Worked great for a while but after less than 2 years it started to turn off spontaneously under load (no clean shutdown like someone just pulled the plug the socket) ). I've checked the CPU and other temperatures and nothing comes close to shutting down so I can only assume it's the PSU. My computer doesn't use anywhere near 500 watts, so I know I'm not overloading it. PC Parts Picker estimates around 285W. This is a list of components and the only things that are not standalone and connected…

Strange things are happening.

When I first got this power supply, it made my computer happy! But over time, my computer started behaving strangely. Monitor, keyboard and mouse become disabled (monitor gets no signal, mouse becomes unusable and keyboard just turns off) and becomes unusable from time to time and I have to turn the computer off and on again all the time! So I went back to my old 460w PSU and so far the monitor, keyboard and mouse haven't turned off. I would probably be wary of buying that. Thank you and have a

After he "blew up " my car, I found the warranty worthless.

Let me start with the good stuff. The power supply is good when it works. Seems well built and I've bought 6 of these over the last few years. The cables are well fitted and the fan is quiet. Even contacting support was easy. Now a question. When the PSU died, not only did it shut down power, I fried my motherboard, memory, and one of the SSDs in the car. I don't know how, but the processor still runs like a champ. The power supply still puts out some current, but the voltage levels are…
