Don't waste your money

I TRIED to return this item as it was very difficult to plug in and the connectors were too loose. It was definitely a surge protector as different plugs work differently in the same outlet. Just for the record, there is no on/off indicator

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Not impressed most in Accessories & Consumables

Very cheaply made. I had to press down hard and make a back and forth motion to insert each connector into the correct socket. I'm only keeping them because I won't be removing them every time after each element is connected to this strip.

Pros
  • Solid workmanship
Cons
  • Embarrassing

GE is a brand I trust.

With more and more electronics in our homes these days, it never hurts to have extra surge protection devices on hand. The Thai two pack was a decent price and I trust GE's quality. They have been used regularly in our homes for over six months and they are reliable and work well.

Pros
  • GOLS Certified

Defective - Broken in less than 3 months

Broken after 3 months of purchase. After receiving a lifetime limited warranty, I returned to my original packaging. Judging by the packaging, it is a "Jasco" product. GE has licensed Jasco to use its trademark, but you will contact Jasco for any warranties. According to Jasco's website, you must send in the product prepaid to make a warranty claim. So I consider this purchase a waste since I don't spend the money to return a $15 surge protector. Luckily the treadmill I had connected to it…

I doubt it protects against surges.

I bought these surge protectors for my computers and specifically chose the GE brand because I thought they were 'heavyweight' as described and more reliable than other brands I wasn't familiar with. It's very cheaply made, has six outlets VERY close together. If you have a slightly larger plug, you'll have to skip the space to plug in something else next to it. The switch at the top is labeled OFF on one side and RESET on the other, not ON. There is no indicator light to show if the bar is on.

Great value for a branded surge protector

I was pleased to learn that GE's 2 pack surge protector power strips are reasonably priced. They had a genuine UL sticker and a warning that the surge protector would stop working if tripped by a power surge. It should be so. They are a bit big for traveling. I bought a much smaller street strip that also has a couple of USB fast charging ports. Others have noticed that there is no indicator showing whether it is enabled or not. This is easy to fix with white markers. I have found that the…
