3 months passed, touch screen not working: problem solved

I've been using it for 3 months now, rarely use it and I'm very careful when I use it. It's the most expensive thing I've ever bought, next to a car and an apartment, and I treat it with care. The touch screen stopped working a week ago, I use it for graphics and it's obviously a HUGE problem. Customer service hasn't been able to help so far and I doubt I'll get a replacement. If you're willing to spend $1,500 on something that doesn't have a working touchscreen, go for it. If not, then don't…

I wouldn't have believed that 2 years ago. I'm coding on a Chromebook.

So I haven't found any Linux app (Debian based or source code) that doesn't work on the Pixelbook. Activating Linux applications was as easy as pressing a key. i7 and 16 GB RAM ensure smooth operation. I program in PyCharm and WebStorm and often run them together with no problems. In fact, I ran both during a Google Hangout presentation with no issues. The only issue I had was Bluetooth, but since the last update that hasn't been an issue either. I use the Android versions of the following apps

I can run Linux 18.04 from Steam on this Pixelbook!

If you're looking for a versatile, handy, fast tablet/laptop combo that runs Google Play apps, this is a great product. Pros: Sturdy metal body that also dissipates heat Steam games - Bright, colorful and sharp display - Very fast - Light weight - Portable - Can expand your desktop to another display by adding a mini USB-C dock (I use one UtechSmart Hub 11-in-1 USB-C) - Touchpad is VERY responsive - Loads VERY fast (about 3-5 seconds from power on to login screen) - Apps load quickly and web…

Nearly perfect. for 2 in 1 laptops

15 years in IT. So I went through many machines from Thinkpads to Apple. This is the ideal machine if you need a thin client (e.g. SSH into a high-performance computer). It's thin and I can take it anywhere with no issues in terms of weight or usability. When you depend on the cloud for apps - and you don't need a £5 laptop. it's almost perfect. Criticisms include the official Linux boot option (which Google is said to be working on) and better battery life. I actually traded in my Surfacebook…

Wanted to like it but lots of bugs and beta features

Really good hardware but numerous software issues make it difficult to recommend at the moment. I think in about a year Chrome OS will evolve into a more powerful desktop OS with coexisting Linux apps, Android apps, progressive web apps and traditional web apps, but it's hard to recommend for now unless You just stick to the web app. Android apps are difficult to use due to scaling issues, poor implementation of tablet-sized layouts and pause states, and quite a bit of instability (even in…
