The price is higher than the temperature.

First off, great box. And the suction cups are cool (better than a vacuum). And a heat shield is a great idea, except it prevents heat from escaping and fish can still swim inside. Then it rolls down the slope like a giant poop. Couldn't warm up 75 ended up getting pissed and put the filter hose through the coffee pot. Now it's a heater. Jk, but it was very tempting. However, I have to say that it works great on the 10 gallons we pushed it to.

270 gallons, 68 house, 78 tanks, one heater

I have been using this heater in my coral/aquarium for about a month and a half. So far October-December. In the winter, my house maintains a constant temperature of 68 degrees. I have the sump heater set at 82 degrees, for the past month my tank has held 76-78 degrees. This is a 230 gallon tank with a 50 gallon sump. That's about 270 gallons that a heater will heat every 10 degrees. I'm minus 10 gallons on an incomplete pan. I am very happy with the purchase.

Bought for my water turtle tank

300w heater model. I have a large red-eared turtle that lives outside in a large paddling pool. I put the roof of the kennel inside so she can hide and sleep. The heating is in their small apartment. I previously bought a smaller model but it only lasted about 6 months. This heater really heats the water! We live in Southern California but it was 40's night and I was worried about the turtle. It took a few days to heat the water and now it's in the mid 70's. I'm sure if used in an aquarium it…

My tortoise is finally happy

I read many reviews before buying and finally chose this heater. Since this is for a turtle and its tank is only partially filled, I needed one that could be placed horizontally. And one with reasonable temperature settings as she never seemed happy and could move other heaters away from the glass and put it on top. This one allows me to keep my tank at 30C for them. A thermometer tape was included and I also had a thermometer fridge magnet that I could attach to the glass by pressing it into…

Didn't fit my tank.

Wrong for my tank. Mine may have been a failure and I understand that, but the fact that most fish need these things to stay alive is why I would return rather than buy it back. That's very bad because I like the way he looks. Others may have better luck, but keep an eye on your tank once installed. I followed the instructions for the letter T. My fish is subtropical so I haven't lost anything, but tropical fish can be a problem. My tank warmed up to 69 degrees. I prefer to keep about 73. For…

Kill fish in the aquarium.

When I received this heater it was used. When I placed it in my fish tank and set the temperature, it quickly heated the water but didn't stop at the set temperature, instead continuing to rise until it fried the fish in the tank. To stop it from rising I had to lower the temp and at that point it would no longer turn on to heat when the water temp eventually dropped, I would have to do it manually by raising the temp again. Basically, it looks like the thermostat inside the unit has failed. So

Great Heater: Aquarium Heaters & Coolers

Overall this is one of the best tank heaters I have ever owned. It is reliable and maintains a constant temperature in the tank well. It is easy to adjust and easy to clean. What I like best is NOT GLASS. I don't have to worry about it breaking when cleaning. A couple of very minor downsides: I have a 75 gallon fresh water tank. The temp gauge on the unit is set at 74 but my water temp stays at 76. This temp drift is MUCH not as bad as other units I've had in the past and again it's reliable…

Very well protected from my Oscar.

As usual, fast shipping makes our purchase in a hurry. Our trademark heater failed in our 100-gallon tank, which contains two teenage Oscars, three Danos, and two Dempsies. These fish like water temperatures between 76 and 80 degrees. Her temp dropped to 65 and kept falling, couldn't wait too long to change the heater. So happy when it arrived quickly and as described. We unpacked it, put it in a protective cover, set it to the right temperature, completely submerged it in water and plugged it…

A heater has never killed a fish.

Great heater. Maintains a constant and accurate temperature. Be warned this heater just killed one of my fish. I never thought it was possible, but somehow one of my adult Serpae tetras found its way *into* the heater's plastic casing. And since the holes on the sides are smaller than the front/back, then it got stuck. I think he was there all night and when I found him with his head in the grill his tail fin was completely damaged and I think there was a burn mark on the side of contact with…
