Good price - but no instructions.

I bought this to build a Weatherpack connector for my truck. It came with no instructions or clues as to which slot is for what. Fortunately, the Revain description provided this information. I printed out the information and will keep it handy with the tool. This crimping tool does its job well and it looks like it can be used on other crimp terminals by trial and error. This is a good value that I plan to use for other projects.

Chinese things make me say "Hmmm ".

Well the marking on this thing is a train wreck. The manufacturer should not be bothered by the fact that the wire cross-section decreases with increasing size. As I understand it, the marks should be in the following order from top to bottom: 20-1818-14 (here they were lucky) 22-20 (not 24-20) 16-1424-22 (lucky again) I am I'll ignore what I think labels should say "bigger-less" rather than "less-bigger" because that might be a preference. What do I know? They seem to work fine once you…

Just good, not great.

My other two Iwiss crimpers are good heavy duty ratcheting pliers. The ratchet pliers crimp conductors and insulation with one press. Love these two previous Iwiss ratchet crimpers. The pliers discussed here are inexpensive casual crimping tools that require two passes if you also want to crimp the insulation. I don't think I bought what I expected but I would argue that the descriptions are not clear or complete as to where the crimpers are sold. I throw them in my portable toolbox to use for…

Job done but

So this review is to inform people who are buying a set of these crimping machines for the first time. This was my first set I bought, here's what I found out.1. I wish I had a ratchet set because you can insert the plug down the barrel and the ratchet will hold it in place. This corresponds to the third hand of the wizard. I wish I had a dual action crimping tool that did the weather bag sealing and barrel crimping in one pass. The connector bent slightly when I crimped the wire and then the…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Long delivery time

The tool works somewhat, the crimp looks good, but even with the correct wire size and placement on the tool, you can still easily pull the wire right out of the crimp. I believe if you reverse the connection after crimping it leaves a small indentation on the back of the connection and holds the wire in place. It's not a crisis, but it's not worth it. The small clasp lock that keeps the jaws closed is clumsy, not easy to hook and falls off. It's like the small lock is too short so the jaws are

Pros
  • cool item

I already own a set of SG Tool Aid 18910 crimping pliers but I needed a second set so decided to try these as they looked more sophisticated. The design is better and I like that the spring automatically opens the snapper to keep it closed for storage. The handles are nicer too. But the SG crimping machine makes crimping better and more repeatable. Both tools form comfortable crimps on the wire. The SG tool makes a nice round crimp with the ends of the tabs holding the o-ring connected parallel

52 of 53 perfect spade lugs

I bought these spade lugs to replace my 20 year old T&B spade lugs that went missing after I decided to put this harness together. The pins and sockets I used were cheap and came in a variety of sizes (22-14). They fit my existing wiring harness and I didn't have to buy 3 different sizes, male and female. With this crimping tool I was able to progressively crimp the terminals when using the lightest gauge. this. I would start my crimp with a larger die. The pin and socket set has received bad…
