Excellent screen - not a very good method of attachment

The screen is excellent. Fits well in the hole and appears well made and not too flimsy. However, the type of attachment with two small springs leaves a lot to be desired. I installed with springs and just wasn't sure if they would hold the screen for long. It's like taking a little ride down a bumpy road or someone touching the screen and it loosens up and disappears. So I attached it with a few short lengths of stainless steel wire instead. I fed the wires through the vent and then through…

Simple and essential for RV parts and accessories

The last thing I wanted was a bunch of bugs ruining my fridge. I've heard stories of removing the drawer to replace the fridge. As usual, Camco has an innovative solution to a problem that the builder himself could have solved before I bought the bus. The grilles fit a variety of Dometic refrigerator vents. I could buy a version without the little semicircles, but I didn't have a proper trainer to know for sure. So these little guys got thrown out. What I installed were just longer pieces that…

Special feature: WARRANTY EXPIRES!

This screen works exactly as advertised. It takes a bit of fiddling to fit, but be aware that once installed, the water heater warranty will be void! Follower. When the water heater was first turned on (they chose not to turn on the propane on the PDI) there was a (small) explosion in the water heater due to a faulty gas valve inside. Every time it was turned on, it kept exploding (we found out later), blasting black soot out of the vent on the side of the trailer and permanently fouling it…

A must-have for every RVer!

This is one of the first things I do to a caravan after buying a new one. I've seen many RV stoves clogged and filled with nests of dirty goo, especially in the spring when they're looking for a place to call home. Not only does this make your stove inefficient, it is also extremely dangerous as the heat can set the nests on fire and burn your home down. To install, install the supplied springs onto the screen and insert a slotted tool through the hole in the screen and slide the spring over…

Well made but product shape issues

These insect screens are very well made and should last the life of the trailer. However, I have a problem with landing. I noticed that they may have to be shortened to fit when buying. I had to trim about 1/4" from one end to fit my application. I used very large metal snips to cut the wire mesh but they just couldn't cut through the strip of metal around the edge. This required use a grinder to cut it off. Also, each end of the net is rounded as you can see in the picture. However, my…

Norcold RV Fridge Fan Mosquito Net

As with the required new bug covers for the heater and water heater, our new 5th wheel came with the Norcold RV Fridge instead of Dometic. Although I've never had a problem with fridge bugs before, I figured that since I've worked in the insect screen department, I've gotten Norcold fridge vents too. The package contained three pieces of screen longer than necessary, six small white cable ties and an installation guide. You will need metal scissors to cut the screens to the right size so they…

Really difficult build. Cut Them Properly Camco

Camco only ships them 1/8" to 1/4" in length. They say use tin snips to cut and trim! Good luck cutting stainless steel! I clamped each end of the screen in a vise and carefully bent the ends to fit, not cut off! They don't cut easily. NEXT. They say "make sure the screen is inserted all the way back for a snug fit" if needed. A metal tab protrudes from the lid to catch things or suck in rain when the screen isn't cropped. What a problem! Instead of trimming the screens evenly over their entire

Camco Flight Net for Dometic Fridge Vents Fits 2008 Freelander RV

We use this product on the white exterior of the Dometic Fridge in our 2008 Freelander RV. I found the screens here on Amazon and read the reviews. I then decided to buy them and use them in my own van. What I love most about the Dometic Camco fridge vent is that it fits my vents perfectly. I didn't have to make any adjustments to them. We used the cable ties that came with it. You will receive 3 screens and 6 cable ties. Two for each screen. As mentioned in other reviews you really need 3 per…
