A great addition to our deck.

It went together very easily, it just took a little while. I used the Caribbean Blue Star Fire glass that I bought from this site. The starter works very easily and the device is solid and works great! We love it! I highly recommend this quality device!

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • unreliable

Great fire function!

I love this mantel! I would estimate a run time of 15-20 hours on a standard grill sized propane tank. Assembly was easy - took 45 minutes and I did it myself. Be careful of where the door is in relation to the gas regulator or you'll have to take it apart and start over. And if you get fireproof glass, take 20#, ten is not enough.

So much for such a low price!

Read all reviews and tips to simplify assembly and initial ignition. The advice to press the ignition button about 30 seconds before igniting was particularly helpful and didn't cause panic! Add fire glass and just love the look and feel without the fuss! So many compliments already while sitting by the pool and pond. And now I'm looking forward to s'mores with the kids! Put it on wheels like one reviewer did to take it to where the party is in our backyard! Just love it after picking it up in…

It appears to be a quality product.

Quality product. Really lousy weather has prevented many from using it but it sits proudly on our patio awaiting better days and nights. Assembly was easy, almost nothing but a Phillips screwdriver and 45-60 minutes of your time. DO NOT tighten the side panels until everything is connected. Really helps with alignment. The cover is suitable as rain protection. However, I want a suitable pit to have a hard surface. I replaced the lava stone with fire glass and it looks really great. BTW, a 10…

Easy to assemble and visually appealing!

My wife has wanted a gas stove for a long time and when I saw this as the deal of the day I knew I had to get her one. In fact, assembly turned out to be quite easy. The only tool you need is a screwdriver. Having another person to help hold things in place will speed up the build. Mine arrived in perfect condition, no stains, cracks etc. The only difficulty I had was lighting the first time. It took a good minute holding the knob in the HIGH position for the flame to finally come out. One…

Potential fire hazard plus other concerns

Used since February 2017 (1.5 years without light) 2 stars because it can be repaired. nothing more because I shouldn't have done those things so early. First, as others have reported, the thermocouple fails very quickly. This makes it impossible to start a fire and keep it burning. I'm trying to replace this one on mine. The time it takes for a thermocouple to determine that a fire is lit is absurd, it shouldn't take minutes to heat up. 2nd big problem I found. The threaded tank connection is…

This is a really great fireplace, especially for the price.

I used to have fireplaces. Yes, we all had a giant octagon from Costco. This one isn't that big (it's a little over 30 but it's still a great size for collecting drinks or small plates) but it's beautiful, durable and looks great. There were instructions in the kit, I built everything myself. However, one piece of advice is that they tell you to attach your legs, but they don't tell you that they are different things. Since the top of the slate is padded on the soft carpet, turn it so the light

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

The first impression is good. I haven't hooked up the LP tank yet, but if there are any issues I'll come back and edit this review. The Lava Rocks bag that came with it was barely enough. It would be better if I could cover the floor a bit more. The stones themselves aren't very attractive - I could remove them to insert broken glass. The included case fits surprisingly well and looks good. Collecting was a big challenge. The instructions aren't very specific about which legs go to which…

Must have: Gas fireplaces

After shopping and reading the reviews I decided on this appliance. So far very satisfied. The construction took about an hour. Damn it took 15 minutes to unbox, packaged very nicely. Took some advice from other reviewers when setting it up. I didn't use a medium-sized long Phillips screwdriver. Once you've made the legs, take a look at them and make sure you place the ones holding the door in the right places. I installed all the parts as suggested then went back and tightened all the screws…
