only reads to the nearest volt!

Bought from YT on recommendation of the University of Electrical. I wish it had mentioned that it only reads to the nearest volt and doesn't measure DC. I hold the meter and probe in one hand, the probe gets stuck and never comes out. I am extremely disappointed. I thought Fluke only made good meters. How naive I am, even at my age!

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Little things

Great little meter that has exactly what you need for electrical work

This meter does everything I need. It doesn't come with a case, but I carry it in my bag in my bag so the case isn't needed and just takes up more space. For anyone reporting amplifier plugs not working, make sure you're only measuring one conductor. If you put both hot (black) and neutral (white) in the forks, they will cancel each other out and read zero.

  • Perfect for outdoor activities

VERY EASY TO USE Best in Electrical

Having been an electrician for over 30 years I can tell you that you don't want to guess about electricity. I have a couple of Fluke test tools that most people need, but for the average person this test tool is easy to use and available at a good price. Automatic switching between AC and DC. Just turn it on and place your test probes on what you're testing (600 volts AC and below) and it will give you the voltage along with whether it's AC or DC. Turn the knob to amps and slip the forked end…

Extremely easy when it comes to general purpose gauges

I have been using this gauge model for 18 years and bought it for my grandson to help him troubleshoot. I think the only thing that ever broke this meter was leaving it on the roof in heavy rain. Otherwise it is a rigid meter with automatic range and polarity detection at DC. The amp plug is much easier to use than the clamp and with the locking button, all you have to do is test, press the button, then remove the meter and count. The audio is strong when checking for continuity and that's it.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • weak

Good product best among voltage testers

This is my second. The way to find the lost one is to order another one. I found my old one the day this one arrived. I've had good luck with these gauges. I have a farm, several rental cars, lots of vehicles and boats etc. I use it for almost everything I work on and it works reliably in difficult wet conditions. I lost my original outside for the first time and it sat in the rain for about a month. Eventually I came back and found him by a ditch I had dug in the mud over the winter. It has…

Arrived with no working current reading

Not impressed yet. In general, that's good. Feels good with quick tension measurements, simple user interface and great attention to detail in fit and finish. Obviously being able to attach a probe to the case is a great idea. The problem is that mine came with a broken current sensing system. When on and not in contact with a live circuit, the system will read 0.1 amps. When testing a known circuit, the reading stays at 0.1, but sometimes shows a higher rating for a short time. The sensory…

The meter is accurate and easy to use

The meter measures current, voltage and resistance. The user does not need to select a measurement range, just switch to volts and it will detect AC/DC, amps and give a reading in ohms as well as a digital reading and beep to indicate continuity. No audible tone when there is no continuity and no OL digital display. It also has a connector for connecting wires up to 12 or 10 gauge to measure current. The back has transducer slots, one of which allows the transducer to slide out of the meter's…

Simple and Easy

The Fluke T5-600 Multimeter is extremely easy to use. It takes over the most important functions in electrical work. It tests AC/DC voltage, continuity and AC current (no DC). I have worked as a residential, commercial and industrial electrician and use these three functions for troubleshooting 98% of the time. I rarely need more features, but when I do, I have another multimeter with all the trimmings. Pros: Slim/compact Simple/easy to use Rugged/dust and water resistant Sensors stowed on the…

This is the standard phrase for the mechanics I work with

I work in a production environment where mechanics (including myself) have to work on anything and everything. We have different professional experience: someone was a sanitary welder, someone came from auto mechanics, someone has experience in automation and robotics, someone was just a production mechanic for a long time. We don't usually look at the component level (down to the resistor for example) but identify the failed board, relay or power supply, replace it and keep the equipment…
