Perfect Fit: Replacement parts

Both rear shock absorbers fit perfectly and work better than the originals. So much so that I bought a pair of KYB shocks for my wife's car.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Weight

Excellent replacement shock absorber

Replaced the stock, totally worn out rear shocks on my 2003 Tundra with these KYB GasAJust shocks. KYB are of high quality and good assembly. Smoothed out stiffness and "clumsiness" of leaf springs.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Quality

Extra Patience. Best in Parts

The product is excellent. If you are removing OE shocks from a first generation Tundra, please be patient. However, reinstallation is easy. I will say that one set of parts in the box had a nut loose so I had to use the old one.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Updates

Great upgrade from OEM

They work a little better than the originals. It was a quick and painless replacement using a jack to self-align the joint between the axle housing and the shock. My truck now drives like clockwork over bumps!

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Don't wait too long - buy them for your truck

I've waited too long to buy new shock absorbers. This immediately improved handling on bumps and with a load. Front struts also made quick. The 20 year old tundra is now farmed like new. I can't put into words how happy I am - they were easy to put on and a great upgrade. I really hope they stay like this for another 20 years.

Pros
  • GOLS certification
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Fits 2003 Tundra Base V6 with 8ft bed

Very helpful in restoring ride and handling. You are not rigid. I matched them to a set of front KYBs. Installation took a little while as on the old shocks the top nut is very difficult to remove as the shock mounting bolt rotates through rust. They are pressurized and may require significant force to squeeze them together to align the mounting holes and bottom screw.

Pros
  • Shock
Cons
  • Not sure

Bought two. Bought them separately

Bought all four shocks and struts together. Put the front and a back together. Second rear shock in a week. So what's the problem you say. Well, nothing, just two different sizes. About an inch different. Bad deal. It probably didn't matter much, but I didn't want to risk raising my truck an inch on one side. It was an inch apart top to bottom. The model number was the same for both, but the serial number was different. I returned them and got my money back but I had to buy others.

Pros
  • Shocks, struts and suspension
Cons
  • Good but not great

Typical KYB quality

I'm a big fan of KYB shock absorbers and struts. They have been fitted to every car and truck I have had since the original shock absorbers expired. KYB represents the best value for money shock absorbers on the market. They may not be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Excellent build and ride quality. On my 2006 Tundra I found it easier to get to the top nut and top brackets under the rear fender well above the tire. Trying to reach it from below is difficult and you're working…

  • Ok for the most part, but...
