SanDisk Ultra Small, but good luck : my truth review

The manufacturer claims very impressive characteristics, namely - 150 MB / s read speed, 50 MB / s write speed (as indicated in some sources) with a USB 3.0 connection, but will everything be so good in fact, how will it behave in real conditions. And so outwardly the carrier looks very stylish and neat, and not large, the steel case on the sides is enclosed in a tinted semi-transparent plastic, which has a bend that forms a comfortable handle. It's a pity there is no work indicator, the blue…

SanDisk Ultra Miniature and compact - my review about it

We were looking for a 32GB flash drive with a normal write speed for an inexpensive price. We chose SanDisk, it is small, which is very convenient. Everything is detailed on the package. In several languages. If you open the package, then inside there is more info in different languages. Here are the speed data. Appearance is very personal. Stylish, metallic. You can even make it in the form of a keychain, which is very convenient. Always at hand. We've been using it for over six months now…

WARNING: This flash drive gets incredibly hot

WARNING: This flash drive gets incredibly hot when transferring large files (>30GB). If the flash drive overheats (exceeds operating temperature), it will pop out of the computer by itself. This flash drive is practically useless to me as I need to transfer more than 30GB of files. Because it heats up too quickly, it turns off before the transfer is complete. If you only need to transfer small files (<10GB) at a time, this works great. But if you work with large files like me, save your…

Happy shopping from SanDisk. I ended up with this brand.

Actually I'm always a fan of SanDisk, I use all memory cards of this brand. I have about 5 cards and discs total. Until recently they were great. I only use this drive in my car for music. At the same time, they brought another 128GB Samsung. No problem with Samsung. As mentioned by another reviewer, this particular 128GB sand drive runs very hot. Worst. This card randomly skips music. I know because I'm swapping this between two cars with a Samsung and it only seems to be happening on this map

    Cons
    • I have doubts

    Revainrating 3 out of 5

Performance degrades rapidly over time, hot, inconsistent speeds.

When I first got it, it was fast, with a read speed of over 120MB/s and a write speed of over 30MB/s. However, after multiple transfers of files larger than 100GB, performance quickly degraded. Now it shows 40MB/s reading and 25MB/s writing. I suppose the heat is to blame, it just got fried. As other reviewers have said, it gets very hot even after a few minutes. Imagine how long it will take and how much heat it will take to write 116GB files on it and then read 116GB files while transferring.

    • The list is getting long.

    Good Speed Small Flash Drive

Overall it's a great flash drive, the read speed is about 140MB and the write speed is 40MB (a bit slower than the 64GB version). It's not as fast as the extreme SanDisk version, but it's the fastest metal drive I've found. You can see the benchmark in the attached image. The metal construction feels solid and will hopefully bang with my keys. My only complaint is that the disc is part metal (silver part) and the key ring part is plastic (black/grey part in the picture). I was hoping it would…

    He died in record time

Well I bought two of these in April. I've only used them a couple of times each and not for a long period of time. Yes, they got hot, but that's okay. You are fast in USB 3.0. Overall I liked the design and how the drive functioned when it was working. However, what I don't like is plugging in one of them and seeing that it has 0 out of 0 free bytes and won't open. It cannot be formatted in Windows or Ubuntu. It cannot be partitioned with Windows or any other program. This disc is DEAD. This…

    why is it so slow

I received this and started transferring files to it. It seemed very slow. I got the speed test diagnostic software and it confirmed what I already knew. it's slow The average read speed was around 100 MB/s, but the write speed averaged 20 MB/s or less. This is very bad. But this screen is inexpensive, has no annoying turn signals and is suitable for a keychain. So I'm keeping it to myself, but I'm disappointed in SanDisk, the company I bought a lot of drives from last year. past. See tests…

overheated; slowed down; Doesn't work with some hubs

Don't get me wrong - I've used a lot of SanDisk products. In fact, SanDisk is my favorite SD card to use in my cameras. But this product just doesn't live up to SanDisk's standards. I bought the 128GB version of this flash drive in May 2018. I've been using it for two months and I have to agree with many other bad reviews: 1. With normal use, the drive gets very hot. I didn't burn myself from this disc, but I dropped it because it was too hot to hold at least once. 2. My drive has slowed to a…

UPDATE TWO YEARS LATER (8/2018): I use this flash drive daily, connected to my keys and it still works great. In and out of my pocket with a handful of keys. 100% happy with it and impressed with its durability. I bought this 128GB drive because I needed more storage space. I had a Silicon Power 64GB Jewel J80 USB 3.0, Titanium (SP064GBUF3J80V1T) flash drive that held up well but had a maximum capacity of 64GB. Silicon Power is made entirely of metal. I was a little wary of the plastic loop I…

A good flash drive from a trusted company

Just needed more space, I installed this. Also, the price was amazing. It's strange to think that I have a flash drive with the same storage capacity that some modern ultrabooks offer as a base. Pros: - This thing is small. I was expecting something like 2.25" x 11/16", you know, the classic little flash drive, but it's more like 1.75" x 7/16", small enough for a keychain, but not too small to innovate. - No blinking LEDs, sorry I hate blinking LEDs on flash drives. They're always annoyingly…
