    Swiss army knife among portable antennas

    This is the Swiss army knife among portable antennas. It is very well made, relatively light and packs sooo small in a well designed case. The included instructions aren't great, but their website has better material, and a search online will yield a pretty good video overview and explanation of how to use it. With this kit I have a very functional multi-band portable antenna that takes up about half the size of a "school sized" backpack.

    Works on a tape, 80 meters, and nothing else.

    My antenna is not working. I can only get it to oscillate on one band - 80 meters around 3.675MHz. The antenna will not resonate, the SWR is greater than 3.5 on any other band no matter what I do with it. If you're using an MFJ antenna analyzer, scanning each band will result in some small dips in SWR, but no more. Of course, it's possible I'm doing something wrong, but for a $400 antenna there's almost no tech support since there's no phone. Telephone numbers and e-mails usually go unanswered.

    Excellent SWR - no tuner needed!

    SWR 1:1 where you want (you set what you want). UHF/VHF and 80/40 or 20 work well together. I no longer use an antenna tuner. Pretty effective, but get an SWR meter (Namo VNA highly recommended) to make setup easier. The bag breaks very easily. I'll see if I can get a replacement as both sides are visually falling apart from not being able to handle the tension of the velcro when opening. But that doesn't matter. The antenna is great.     After tuning it worked great on several bands!

    Even as a beginner in amateur radio, I found this antenna very useful! It took me a little while to figure out how to put things together, but one day I found that I could transmit on 80M, 15M, 10M and up with SWR around 1:1 with a little trial and error to get it right. With both the SWR meter and the one built into the IC-7300, there wasn't a single frequency where I couldn't get the ideal 1:1 measurement. In some bands the tuning range is very narrow.     Antenna parts are of high quality. The instructions are superfluous in some cases, but that's not a problem after a few antenna adjustments. The complete set is very similar to the Tinker Toys set; Of course, the instructions indicate which parts are required for which group. The properties of the antenna are excellent for portable use.     I bought a great antenna system based on a youtube review. The reviewer said the components are of good quality despite being made in China; that the company has good quality control. Having had this product for several days I have to disagree. The inside seam of a Grab 'n' Go bag ripped open after an attempt was made to open an inside Velcro pocket. I have read the instructions several times and assume that the ER1B extension is used for 2M. I have not used the antenna for anything other than HF and it works fine on HF with my LDG tuner.     GENERAL: Works well. I used it at 20, 40 and 80 meters from the entrance on an FT-857 with an automatic antenna tuner. It took me a while to get my bearings with the measuring tool and I ended up putting a piece of tape on it to mark where the best settings were for the frequencies I wanted.
