After installing the Flowmaster on my truck 4 years ago and working with the hum it produces generated in the cabin, I've had enough and bought this muffler. I hope this one lasts as long as the truck because I'm very glad I don't hear the exhaust anymore. There's a faint humming noise, but it's barely perceptible to my ears.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Fragile

Sounds like OEM, but is half the price.

Excellent replacement for the stock muffler. Just note that some Silverados have a standard muffler with two exits going into the same exhaust pipe. They simply cut off the "Y" and used a small piece of straight pipe between the muffler and the exhaust pipe. It was a pretty cheap muffler compared to other options and well worth it. If you want a standard sound without paying GM $400 for a muffler, this muffler is for you.

Will not fit my 1999 Silverado 2500

Will not fit my 1999 Silverado 2500 with 6.0L engine, no professional pumping, exhaust shop, stock exhaust pipes approx. 2 3/4" and muffler inlets are 3+ inch, same with exhaust pipe, not an exact replacement, and is not simply clamped, and the stock exhaust pipe will not extend far enough without splitting it to fit a new muffler. The exhaust store said about $100 for the installation, because they have to make it fit by making adapters This is what my truck, #21576, needs, but it's not a…

Muffler That Tamed The BIG BLOCK

Contrary to what some people think, this is the OEM muffler that GM uses to tame the big block. My company owned 3 Chevy Express or GMC Savana 3500 2001/02 with 8.1/496c.i engine. Voctec motor for many years and this is the only silencer that kills the drone. The rumble of aftermarket mufflers gave me a headache. It's so quiet now that I can hear the pebble stuck in the tire rattling on the road. Of course she still yells when you hit her. But it's quiet at idle, and the rumble is completely…

Not as quiet as stock mufflers.

My original factory muffler on my 2003 2500HD started to rattle and the bottom sheet metal was caked up. I was looking for a "quiet" muffler and came across one that a lot of people have described as quiet. Spring. I was beyond disappointed when I lit it up after installing it and it was louder than the 16 year old muffler I just cut. Not thrilled, but it's already done, so I'll live with it. At least the rattling was gone, it was easy. I had a dual outlet on my old muffler so I had to make a…

A pounding developed within 70 miles. Do not buy for 6.0

The problem is that at idle and with a little gas, a knock can be heard from the muffler. I had high hopes that this muffler would quiet my Chevy 2500 6.0 truck and it helped with freeway rumble but was very unhappy with the rumble at lower rpm. The muffler shop even tried to talk me out of fitting them because they had no luck with them for the 6.0 engines but since I had already bought them I decided against their suggestion to go for it. Never thought it would only be 70 miles, just a…

Seems quieter than the OEM system.

For 2003 GMC Sierra 2500 (Non-HD) 6.0L 143.5" WB. The existing exhaust pipe just ahead of the stock muffler is 2.8" OD so I went with this muffler from Walker; Inlet ID 3". I also bought a Walker exhaust pipe 55538. 55538 fits my existing exhaust hangers. I used 3 3" exhaust pipe clamps. I was a bit concerned about the 0.2 inch difference in intake port diameters, but after tightening the clamps there were no leaks. Then I announced the truck. IMPRESSIVE! It was actually quieter than the OEM…

Fits perfectly, it is a perfect factory replacement.

2002 Silv 2500HD extended short cab with 6.0 muffler fits perfectly. You will also need to purchase the matching Walker exhaust pipe and 3 clamps. Optional but probably necessary are 3 rubber isolators (hangers). If you check the Walker web catalogue, the instructions say the stock exhaust should be trimmed "behind the welds". It was a vague headache, but I found I had to cut two pipes as close as possible to the weld at the front of the factory muffler. Walker's new muffler inlets slide right…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons

First of all, this muffler fits my 2004 Chevy 2500hd 6.0 long cab perfectly. After years of using the Flowmaster drone I just couldn't take it anymore so I bought this muffler along with a Walker exhaust #55538. I had a muffler shop installed and they cut the factory pipes right in front of the old Flowmaster. and the factory pipes coming off the cats slid right into that muffler. I was initially hesitant to buy because I was concerned it would be too quiet. When it first started up after…
