Zoo Med ReptiSand Natural Pounds Review

This sand is neither dusty nor too fine. It's really easy to clean. It took my hamster a few days to get used to this but now I see it in it every day. Highly recommended!

The sand is nothing like yellow calcium sand. The red seems incredible at first but it is so beautiful that everything in the aquarium is covered in red dust including my pearl kite. Very difficult to keep clean, period. I'll be switching to regular sand soon.

I've seen reviews where someone's sand came with a hole or even holes in it. I bought it by mistake hoping mine came in an unopened box. I would say if someone did it it should be by accident as they know it could be torn apart. My hamsters love it. I bought this a few months ago, so far I have 3 sandwich bags. As for the prices of different types of reptilians, I believe they should consider BETTER PACKAGING to prevent leakage.

I used this sand in my hamster's sandbox. She uses it as a potty. It is easy to scoop and sift. And when it's wet it sticks together so it's easy to see where she's peeing and scoop it out. The color is really pretty, but it's cheaper to buy a $5 (£50) bag of baby play sand at my local hardware store. It takes a bit of work to bake this sand and sort out large rocks, but it's a much better option for me in the long run. But this reptile sand has a better consistency than super-grain play sand…
