Dash was launched in 2014 from the Bitcoin code and has been through a couple of rebranding before being popularized as Dash. Its first name was Xcoin then it was rebranded to Darkcoin and finally to Dash which is a short form of "Digital Cash". Dash is a decentralized network whose native currency ensures privacy and speed comparatively superior to Bitcoin.
Where Bitcoin mostly stresses and focuses on its miners, Dash has provided efficient benefits to its investors and traders who can participate in upto 45% of every block reward simply by owning a master node. Master nodes are computers that host a Dash wallet holding 1000 Dash. Owners of Master Nodes have voting rights on the funding of Dash network.
Other interesting features of Dash include its PrivateSend which is a coin mixing technique to obfuscate the identity of the transactions but incurs extra fees. It is done by mixing at least three transactions together to hide the transaction trail. Dash also provides InstantSend software for its users to make transactions almost instantly with some higher charges.
