The platform was born from a fork of Crypti's blokchain. Max Kordek, CEO and Founder of the Lisk Foundation, was also working on the Crypti project. When, at the beginning of 2016, Kordek realized that the funds raised with the ICO of Crypti were not sufficient to achieve the set goal, decided to develop this new platform.

Pros
  • Lisk gives developers the ability to build decentralized applications (dApp) with more mainstream programming languages such as JavaScript and Node.js. Lisk is a decentralized network like Bitcoin, Nxt or BitShares. But unlike the first two, it does not use proof-of-work or proof-of-stake protocol. The Lisk blocks are verified by the Delegated proof-of-stake protocol, a simple implementation of the original BitShares algorithm. This means that every holder of LSK (Lisk token) can vote in favor of the delegates of the mainchain. The delegates will be in charge of validating the blocks and making the network secure. The proof-of-stake Delegate is always an authentication protocol.
Cons
  • There is still a lot of work to do.
