I started using Midas.Investment’s brand of yield bearing services in December 2021, and like anyone who approaches a new protocol or service claiming to possess the highest returns on single-sided staking investments, I did so with caution. I had come from staking my crypto, mostly Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Binance coin (BNB) over at Celsius and Crypto.com, so I considered myself familiar with the concept, except for the dizzily high returns. However, after 6 months with Midas.Investments, I am very happy to report that this is a company that exudes care for their customers and excellence for their work in the DeFi space, and that I wished now that I had discovered them sooner.
Investment Product: 5/5
Midas.Investment’s biggest attraction is the high, single-sided staking rewards, paid out and compounded daily. I do not know of a service out there that is as generous as theirs, and I would happily vouch for their precision and regularity of their rewards because 13% APY and 18% APY on Bitcoin and Ethereum respectively are very real. In 180 days with Midas, I have never witnessed a reward being paid out a second late. Additionally, what I appreciate of the Midas platform is the ease of use: the transparency and details provided in the transaction history and the ability to export it if I so desire. This has been a fuss free system that runs like clockwork, and I am impressed to say the least. That said, if you were ever lost, there are helpful guides on YouTube, on their website, or mentors on Discord, who would be glad to offer some guidance. Also, if you wish to learn more about how the yields are generated (spoiler: it’s through DeFi), they have weekly updates and reports on that so we, the customers, are kept in the loop about the health of the system.
Security: 3/5
As they say, “not your keys, not your crypto”, but this is a risk that is not unique to Midas.Investments, which is in part why I don’t see their service as any riskier than Nexo’s, Celsius’, or BlockFi’s, just to name a few. However, in the 6 months I have been using this service, I have seen conscious efforts by the team to better user security and the security of funds. There exists an option for 2FA (although it’s email 2FA, and not app-based authentication), and there’s always a conversation with the fans/users about improving this. Recently, as of April 2022, KYC, powered by sumsub was implemented – which, in my opinion, only enhances the legitimacy of the platform. Aside, despite being centralized, there is no formal insurance of funds (as far as I know, at this time of writing), but the Midas team has assured users (on Discord) that emergency funds are in place. Take that for what it’s worth.
Customer Support & Community Engagement: 4/5
Midas.Investments a fun bunch to be around, just ask anyone who’s been in on the Discord. The team’s responsive and helpful, and generally speaking, the community support is pretty strong. However, at the meat of things, i.e. reaching out to customer support when you need it, their record has been, in my opinion, respectfully above average. On Discord, I have observed the representatives to been kind and quick in addressing issues and queries, but I have also heard stories about how the chat support team that’s manning the live chat on the website can be less than effective. That said, I have never needed to contact customer support for my experience has been only smooth sailing thus far. But know that if you need to reach them, help is available on the website (live chat), on Discord, and even on Reddit.
Final Thoughts
Midas.Investment’s service is as legitimate as they come. They have been nothing but professional despite being a small team. They don’t miss a beat in their payouts and they make a conscientious effort to maintain an open dialogue with their customers, shoring up any deficits with dialogues (AMAs), transparent reports/updates, and wonderous community building.
This is a service and a team worth investing in.
